Why do some people answer my questions totally politely and with no hint of being upset at it, and others (no names) immediately take me as just being some lazy slob. The point of this board is to ask questions. And if you don't like the topics with the obvious questions, just don't post in them. I'd rather get no answer from someone, than an answer that comes with whatever baggage they care to bring to the table.

I read the post and thought that Rowdy and Harpua were pretty cool about it.But I think you have to get past it,your still holding on to the past stuff and you need to take a deep breath and laugh with it and move on.Believe me I know where your coming from and don't worry about it your not the first or will be the last to get ridiculed it happens all the time.I read the rulebook all the time and still can't remember everything in there.

EDIT: A few of the others are lacking in cool names, too. I'm giving all of you a homework assignment to come up with cool names for hybrids.

I enjoy helping, when I can, a player understand some facet of the rules. And as far as I know I've never responded rudely to someone asking for help. You seem to not understand why you're taking some flak, and I'm trying to explain it to you.

A person who repeatedly posts questions with an admitted attitude of "I could have looked this up myself but it was easier to ask here so someone else would do the work" comes across one of two ways:
1. "I'm too lazy to try to figure this out on my own, I want someone else to do it."
2."My time is too valuable to waste looking for this answer, someone else needs to find it for me."
That person is likely to be perceived as either lazy or self-important or both, not because of any baggage others "care to bring to the table" but because of the way they present themselves. And as a consequence they are likely to take a little heat.

I'm nominating Sheet.

A tangent off of your tangent:
I play scrabble at a local club on a weekly basis. One moment I'll never forget was making a much higher ranked player challenge liger in a game. The guy studied word lists and I'm a casual player. I even told him what it was, knowing he wouldn't believe it. He was in total disbelief that it was a real word!
