Would attacking with an object affect back alley brawl?

Did a little research, and it seems that if I swing with the LO, I can get the +2. Will proceed as if that is the case.

I believe, if gargoyle punches, he does not get the +2 to attack because he is using super strength. And he can't choose not to use it, IIRC.
