CONTROLLING THE FLOW OF COMBAT: When using the Duo Attack ability, Batman and Nightwing may use Charge or Smoke Cloud as a free action instead of making the second attack.
Duo Attack Give this character a power action to make a duo attack. This character possesses for this action. It makes a close or ranged combat attack as a free action. After the attack resolves, it may make an additional close or ranged combat attack as a free action with its damage value modified by -1 to a minimum of 1. If this character is defeated or loses Duo Attack as a result of the first attack, the second attack is not made.
How I think the substitution happens:
Duo Attack Give this character a power action to make a duo attack. This character possesses for this action. It makes a close or ranged combat attack as a free action. After the attack resolves, it may (use Charge) as a free action with its damage value modified by -1 to a minimum of 1. If this character is defeated or loses Duo Attack as a result of the first attack, the second attack is not made.
I'm of the opinion that the charge gets substituted for the free attack only, and that the modifier to damage value still applies.
The reason I don't think the substitution happens that way (and why I think it happens the way I did it) is because this:

It still makes sense. The fact that you're normally not going to use damage value while using smoke cloud doesn't prohibit the damage value from being modified while smoke cloud is being used.
Ok, well here is how I see the chain resolving.....
1.)Start duo attack.
2.)Make an attack at full damage.
3.)Choose whether to continue duo attack or use charge or smoke cloud.
4.) Choose to use charge.
5.) Duo attack ends with this decision.
6.) Give character a free action to use charge (No negative modifier as this is now not part of duo attack)

ummmm... i think it might be more like this....
1.)Start duo attack.
2.)Make an attack at full damage.
3.)Choose for second part of duo attack or use charge or smoke cloud or another attack.
4.) Choose to use charge.
5.) Give character a free action to use charge but with -1 to dmg due to it being the second part of the duo attack....
if the duo attack ended when you chose charge you would not be able to charge cause the action would be ended...

Why would you not be able to use charge if duo attack ended? It specifically says to give them a free action to use charge. I get your side of the argument, I just happen to think the wording makes your argument incorrect. I suppose we will have to agree to disagree until an orange says one way or the other.....

i feel again till offical ruling this works just like the nightwing and batgirl one...
COMPLEMENTARY COMBAT SKILLS: When Nightwing and Batgirl use the Duo Attack ability, they can use Flurry as a free action instead of each attack.
when using this it allows that when the duo attack action, you get to make a close combat or range combat attack as a free action then andother one after that with dmg -1...
so on them you cam use flurry twice getting 4 attacks... full dmg for the first flurry and -1 dmg on the second...
im not sure why it would be different on the batman nightwing fig... attack for first action the charge/smoke cloud for the second...

COMPLEMENTARY COMBAT SKILLS: When Nightwing and Batgirl use the Duo Attack ability, they can use Flurry as a free action instead of each attack.
The only difference I see in the powers is that they can use flurry instead of each attack. So they have to attack twice, via duo, but can instead use flurry. On Batman Nightwing the bit that says, "instead of making the second attack." MAkes me think that you are moving out of duo attack completely....
But maybe Im just trying to get my way at this point...being objective, if there is a standing ruling on Nightwing and BAtgirl, I cant see why it wouldnt apply here as well.....

Where did they make that ruling though? I've been trying to find it and couldn't find anything.
