Originally posted by Briel Let's not even go there about fainting in the 60's and 70's, because every heroine in comics except for Wonder Woman did. That's just something you have to accept for what it was at the time. The FF are my favorite team and I love Invisible Woman, but NO ONE has a stronger will than Hal Jordon in either universe. Of course, Susan's power can't be stolen either, so there are pluses and minuses.
Wonder woman started off in the JLA as the Secretary reading back the minutes of the previous meeting and keeping records of the minutes for the current one. She wasn't immune to stereotyping either.
It's been a long way now, with Susan and Storm leading their teams for long periodsof time. When Reed was presumed dead, Thing and Torch just assumed Susan was in charge.
Not to get too far off subject, but the greatest female lead story of all time has to be "Hunt For Oracle" where a crippled Barbara Gordon defeats an army of like twenty guys in a sinking ship by herself. Bird is the word. Read this book.
As for the Superman and Sue pairing...well it's not like they haven't met. In the treasury sized edition of 'Superman & Fantastic Four'. Superman is fooled into thinking that Galactus killed Krypton and ends up becoming his herald. During the course of that story Reed is trapped on Galactus' ship and Sue takes charge of the team, once again. The one thing I'd be interested seeing in a FF story is Franklin somehow using Superman's cape that he was given at the end of the story. Maybe Sue could use it as a towel? Oh that's durdy...lol.
