Thank you for confirming that. So if the Solo Adventure piece only HAS one point value, then, it would always be considered that point value for Merge?
That is correct.

As an additional thought: Would characters that had been Solo Adventured be able to use the merge mechanic regardless of what starting line they popped off at?
The ruling on replacement characters is that figures which actively began on my force tacitly become added to my sideline when they are KOed.
Example:
My team:
IIM016 Pepper Potts - 35
ASM007 Johnny Blaze - 50
ASM046 Ghost Rider - 145
BCTV004 Dick Grayson - 25
BCTV002 Bruce Wayne - 45
Sideline:
BCTV001 Batman
BCTV003 Robin
IIM002 Rescue
If Ghost Rider is KOed before Johnny, then I can use Johnny's Alter Ego to change into the KOed Ghost Rider even though he was not on my sideline at the beginning of the game.
Does the same hold true for Solo Adventure figures who are KOed?
Say that I had a team with a Justice League team base and Batman/Green Arrow duo. If Batman Solos and is KOed, can I then use that Solo figure as part of my sideline for splitting the duo?

I hope so.... this is how we have been playing it forever now....

@harpua, I would assume so. Also I would be under the impression that the batman figure you split into would HAVE to also be able to 'reattach' to the team base, because I was under the impression this 'status' was not a game effect (which would then be transferable to the duo, and then possibly to another switchclix figure, which would cause all kinds of problems, like putting a Jean Grey switchclix fig onto the WRONG team-base because you transferred that game effect over from a cyclops that you merged into the cyclops and phoenix duo).
Alternatively it is NOT able to be 'reunited' because of some OTHER arbitrary ruling due to intent that has no support in the text or the logic behind the game's mechanics currently (or possibly there is such support and I am unaware of it).
I suppose the third alternative is that you CAN totally end up being told "put jean grey/cyclops on the wrong team base" by game effects (not even sure this would be illegal, either... Just really weird)
I am rezzing this thread just to see if the ruling for mind control + solo adventure would also apply if the team base became friendly to your force by other effects.
Basically I am looking at Copycat's trait from the Deadpool set
Infiltrate My Enemies: Before placing characters in your starting area, you may choose an opposing character that is 100 points or less. Copycat becomes friendly to that character's force and that character becomes friendly to your force. Any game effects assigned to each of them is now assigned to the other. When Copycat fails a roll for Shape Change or uses Regeneration, after actions resolve, this effects ends and any game effects assigned to each of them is now assigned to the other.
So if you used the trait on a 100pt team base could you use solo adventure, or does the ruling on Mind Controlling a team base apply here as well?

Good question... I'd counter that with asking if a team base is considered a single character for that power or if it wouldn't apply.
Could really screw your opponent over if they have the Belt or Gauntlet on a lower point figure and you steal that figure. Ooh, interesting question... can you essentially get/use 2 resources on one team if this situation happened?
-Heroclix is not a game of logic, it's a game of strategy .... after all, when's the last time that you saw a giant (using a stealth ability) that was hiding behind a swingset... and nobody could SEE him????
The game effects assigned to them clause means they are likely to swap over whatever relics or resources they have so you can't steal someone's Utility Belt for example.
A team base is considered a single character so it should certainly be affected by her trait.

Characters via Solo Adventure can only be used by the player who had them on their original build total. You would not be able to Solo Adventure.

From the Core Rulebook:
A resource included in your force can’t be used by an opposing player, even if an assigned character becomes friendly to an opponent’s force during the game.

Why can't Copycat use the resource? A resource isn't a "game effect"? That trait looks like it specifically lets that happen, superceeding the rulebook.

Thanks for the quick response, so does the term "game effects" include things like the Utility Belt or Gauntlet. Even if I can't use them myself does Copycat's trait mean that if a character with the UB assigned becomes friendly to my force the UB stays assigned to them or does it become assigned to Copycat.

How about this..... A solo adventured figure picks up a relic, then merges back to the team base. Where does the relic go?
From Team Cards:
Teams and team members can’t be assigned resources, can’t roll to pick up a relic, and can’t become a pilot of a vehicle unless a game effect specifies otherwise.

Thank you. I knew the bases couldn't. Wasn't sure about the members. Very cool.
