Anyone can pick it up.
It cannot be used in close combat.
It can be thrown for 8 (as opposed to 6 for light and 4 for heavy*) and does 1 damage.
* - both of those dropped by two in the new rulebook...which brings them back to their original ranges, so it's like some weird kind of daylight saving thing, but with toys your imaginary playthings throw at your friends' imaginary playthings.
Oh, that's how daylight savings works. Better set my clocks back two spaces.
New question: If you live in a part of the country that doesn't recognize daylight savings, can you still throw light and heavy objects 8 and 6 spaces?
Give Spidey a FIRE FLOWER! Put a TANOOKI SUIT on Batman! Make your Blood Brother a HAMMER BROTHER!

Thanks for the reply. Sounds like a good thing to hold onto if you have no range.
Actually, would powers like EE and PB work with thrown objects since that is a ranged combat attack? Might be a good way to get a longer range attack for a turn.
"Come on Hulk! Where's the old boasting? The battle cries? Why aren't you bellowing about how you're 'the strongest one there is'? Could it be because... you know it's not true?"
"No. Because it's just too obvious."

EE, yes.
Pb, no.
Psychic Blast requires its own ranged combat action to activate, just like throwing an object does, so that wouldn't work together.
But Energy Explosion and Precision Strike don't' require their own actions to activate, so you could use either or both of those while throwing an object.

Precision Strike. I like the way your brain works. Lots of fun to be had like that.

So for characters who can bring standard heavy objects into the game, can they be ultra heavy? Can their standard light objects be ultra light?
Examples:
Quote
RUBBLE MAKERS
Give Absorbing Man and Titania a free action and they can place a standard object on the map into an adjacent square.
Quote
WRECKAGE: When Absorbing Man and Titania KO an opposing character, roll a d6. On a result of D3-D4, place a standard light object in the square that character occupied. On a result of D5-D6, place a standard heavy object instead.
Quote
WRECKING CREW, AT YOUR SERVICE: At the beginning of your turn, you may destroy one wall or square of blocking terrain adjacent to any friendly character with the Wrecking Crew keyword. If you do, place a standard heavy object in the same square as a placed debris marker.
Quote
Give Shaman a power action and place a standard light object in an adjacent square. This game, friendly characters can use Super Strength to pick up and hold this object.
Quote
Angrir can use Close Combat Expert. When he does and hits, hit characters are knocked back 4 squares and you may place a standard heavy object in the square they occupied.
Quote
WEAPON CRAFTING
Give Dwarf a power action to place a standard light object from outside the game into an adjacent square. When ''M'', you may place a standard heavy object instead.
Ultra-heavy objects are just a sub-type of heavy objects. This is the rule now.
There is no reason to believe that ultra-light objects won't be a sub-type of light objects.
Nothing makes them "special objects" as they are.
No need to presume:
Quote
ULTRA LIGHT OBJECTS An Ultra Light object is a light object with a white ring instead of a yellow one. Ultra Light objects follow all the rules of light objects with the following changes:
Any character can pick up or hold this object, even if they cant use Super Strength.
This object is not used when making a close combat attack.
A square containing this object is not hindering terrain.
When used to make a ranged combat attack, this object can be thrown 8 squares and deals 1 damage.
And actually, there is something making ultra-lights special objects, once some are printed with that thing:
Quote
SPECIAL OBJECTS
Special objects are objects (either tokens or
3-D objects) marked with the [gear] symbol.

There's something making light and heavy objects special objects too, if they happen to be a special object.
Sort of pointless to make that statement, isn't it?
Light, heavy, and ultra-heavy objects are also special objects if they have the special object symbol. So what?
So what with throwing being essentially useless, and the average cost of characters being what it is, the Heavy Object is an almost totally pointless thing now. Well, outside of TK, I guess. Still, by making UHOs free, regular HOs are about 60% pointless now.
