When both parties have iTrader ratings in the 20's - 30's or less, or even into the 50's - 60's, and the trade goods exceed $40 - $50 or so in value, take the time to protect each other by looking into a 3rd-party trade.
Just FYI - this nimrod has been ripping people off for YEARS, first as fubar, then as spaceage. During his fubar spree, I dug up some info on his personal life that appeared to scare him just a bit, as he *immediately* hopped online and started sending figures back to people. Now as far as I can tell, that information is still valid, as he's still showing up as a member of the Glendale Coin Club. As I suggested then, you might want to consider (POLITELY) pinging the folks there and see if they might be interested in helping you root out the thief that's in their midst.
Bat-Phreak: thanks for the info. Will definitely take that under advisement in future... assuming I bother with iTrading again after this debacle. This is one severely bad apple into which I seem to have bitten.
Hail_Eris: Thanks for the info, I'm very grateful. I will proceed accordingly and update this thread on any progress.
I left polite voicemail messages with the number attached to his mailing address and with the gentleman at the number from the 2004 coin club newsletter (who said he knew Mark but did not have his number to give me... fine). I also sent an email to the current head of the Glendale Coin Club, politely appealing to his honor as a fellow collector of small valuable-but-only-to-other-collectors items.
During this, I received a PM from RisingAgainst: "Hello Rob, I will be sending back the figures you sent me bacause I don't have replacements." Seems he's sticking to the story that he already sent me the Zombie figures and they were lost in transit... odd that he wouldn't have an associated DC or tracking number to send with that, but fine, whatever. I responded to him "Thank you, Mark. If I receive the figures by Thursday I will consider this 'Case Closed.'"
So that's where I stand with this. If I get the figures I sent Mark Watson (aka Mr. Cline (?), Rising Against, Fubar, and Spaceage) by Priority Mail on Thursday, I'm willing to let it end with merely his tarnished reputation in the Heroclix community. If not, the local police get a phone call on Friday morning, promptly at 8AM Pacific time.
If anyone else has anything else they would like to document in this thread, please feel free. I will post more when/if further events warrant.
I can't stress how much this has hurt this site for me. I know it is not this sites fault (third party trader, etc) and I LOVE this site but I sent out trades that I had been working on yesterday and I literally felt horrible about as I was at the post office. I literally got stomach craps and these people have been around a long time and have tons of references.
What an ass-hat. I don't understand why you would do something like this on such a scale intentionally. I just imagine him sitting with no friends in a room alone with our stuff just petting them and saying "these are my friends"...just so angry. Sorry to vent but this site has been such an amazing tool/community and I'm super bummed not about losing the minis (which I'm confident I will never see again) but because of the betrayal and loss of trust with a community I feel like I foolishly trusted.
DocSquid: I would say this community is as a whole, is a group of stand up individuals. Don't let one jerk ruin the whole experience for you. While i didn't take as big of a loss as most of you guys, i still plan on trading on the site. I have had too many good experiences to let one @$$ face stop me from continuing. Part of what i love about this site is making connections with traders around the country. I mean up until this point, I have been nothing but impressed with the speed and care most traders put into our exchanges. Whenever I trade something rare with a person hundred of miles away, and actually receive a figure back, it always restores a little bit of hope that there are still honest people in the world. Also, its kind of cool to be able to have a Batman from Oklahoma (except for everyone in Oklahoma, i'm sure its boring for you), or a Starfire from Wisconsin. All these awesome people working together to help each other find the pieces they really want, or need to finish a collection is the kind of collaboration, that will keep me frequenting, and funding this site for years to come. Okay ramble done .
I dont mean I foolishly trusted the community in general I just mean this ass. I am still trading here and still love it but F this dude. F this dude right in the A.
DocSquid & SapphireShadow, I am glad both of you are still willing to keep trading on the 'Realms. If we allow some jerk-weed to chase good traders away, the 'Realms will lose A LOT of what I find most attractive about this site.
Besides, with people like you all and Bobcat2022 / Scammer-Bane around, maybe other traders will be more hesitant to turn to the dark side.....and no, I do not mean Country Music.

Sounds like I'm in the list of getting scammed. We traded 3x WoL srs for Ophidian. I sent mine, he got it last week and then I have heard nothing back from him.
Edit: adding conversation so far. Last email was from yesterday.

Im sorry to hear your now among our numbers. Welcome to the thread, share what your willing to about the situation. Bobcat2022 seems to be our take charge champion at the moment.
So to add to the thread, just got a PM saying mine as well as 7 other peoples packages will be going out no later than tomorrow. he then proceeded to give me his cell number so that I can verify that its him and that he is not trying to scam anyone.
I told him no offense but i dont want to give you my cell number just please get my stuff to me. I also mentioned this thread and that we have a bunch of info on him.
Is it weird that I want to believe he just got over his head in trading and just made some mistakes? It seems so nuts to try to scam everyone and then continue the sham for no reason...
