The Black Widow and Dr. Octopus were cornered at the top of the Eiffel tower. Unless they found a way to fly there was no escape that they could see. The Nazis had mobilized and were filling the tower in expectation of capturing the intruders.

Baron Strucker, Baron Blood, Natalia Kassle and Major Maxim advanced through the Nazi troops and approached the apartment entrance where Octavious and Natasha were holed up. Baron Blood needed to act quickly as he was unable to operate after the sun riose. He needed to get this over with quickly.

He decided that he and Major Maxim would storm the entrance and face the two trapped inside while Strucker and Natalia Kassle followed with some Nazi stormtroopers.

They were about to charge through when a disturbance occurred on the streets below.

They rushed to look and saw the Punisher and Longshot on the street below decimating the troops they'd left outside the Eiffel Tower. Baron Blood hissed and flew down to confront the two. The Nazis had a huge bounty on the Punisher and Longshot. They had been harassing the Nazi occupiers with the Punisher's war van for a long time with impunity.

Now they had somehow gotten into Paris?

This development gave the Black Widow and Dr. Octopus some time.

Day 64: close to Dawn; In occupied Paris on a replicated Earth in an alternate reality.

Orana of the Amazons lived once again. She realized she now had a real chance to redeem herself. She had been such a fool before. Her own hubris had gotten herself killed, but now? Now she has been given a second chance and she wanted nothing more then to return to Themiscyra to apologize to Princess Diana and Queen Hippolyta for the mistakes she had made when she tried to be Wonder Woman.

She looked around and saw nothing but chaos around her as bullets were flying everywhere. Since she had died by bullets she was careful to deflect those coming her way.

It was then that she noticed Mala near her and the two stood beside each other deflecting bullets.

Ubu and Kirigi of the League Of Assassins were also wondering where they were and why.

They hoped it was where their master Rha's Al Ghul had disappeared to but the chaos of flying bullets caused them both to dive for cover of some kind.

They were perplexed by the sight of Nazis shooting at some fellow with much more modern weapons at his disposal who had a skull on his chest.

There was another blonde fellow who was literally dancing among the Nazis knocking their weapons from their hands and knocking Nazis out. His luck seemed unbelievable. They couldn't understand why he wasn't getting shot. Bullets were flying all around him.

This wasn't their fight. Their master Rha's Al Ghul hadn't given them orders to cope with this. They were free to make their own decisions.

It was after they found cover that they noticed the two Amazons.

Baron Strucker also wanted the glory of having ended the threat of Punisher and Longshot harassing the Nazis constantly and knew that Baron Blood's time was limited before he would be forced to retreat by the rising sun. So he left Natalia Kassle to deal with the strange newcomers and rushed to the ground floor to direct the capture of the Punisher and Longshot.

Natalia Kassle ordered Major Maxim to charge into the room. The entrance was blocked with furniture stacked by Dr. Octopus so it slowed Major Maxim a little but not much.



Major Maxim charged in and was met by the grasping tentacles of Dr. Octopus where he grabbed Major Maxim and hurled the robot out of the nearest window. Octavious then followed out the window to make sure that Major Maxim did not recover. To his dismay, Major Maxim landed below but got back up almost immediately.

Natalia Kassle's eyes widened when she saw Major Maxim get hurled through the window to the ground below. She ordered her Nazi troops to rush in after she saw Dr. Octopus leave the building through the same window.

She was further appalled by the easy way they were swiftly dispatched by the woman still inside. Natalia's eyes narrowed. She dared the woman to come out and face her. She was shocked when the woman responded in perfect Russian, "Of course darling. Whatever you say."

The Black Widow stepped out and sized up her opponent.

"Greetings Tovarisch! Do you care to dance?"

Natalia Kassle overcame her shock and cracked her whip.

Natasha leaped out of the way and shot the whip out of Natalia's hands.

Baron Blood charged down, determined to end the Punisher problem completely and forever. unfortunately, the thin rays of dawn were approaching and Baron Blood's sense of self preservation took hold.

He veered off and fled to the nearest safehouse he had arranged throughout Paris.

The Punisher was still able to note Baron Blood's trajectory. He made a mental note to search Paris in that direction in the near future in hopes of destroying Baron Blood once and for all.

The Black Widow eyed Natalia Kassle.

"So, you fancy you are tough tovarisch? Are you tough enough to fight me without the whip? You, who have sold your soul to the darkest forces and turned your back on your people who have suffered the most against the Nazis?"

Natalia Kassle had no rejoinder for that and was goaded into attacking Natasha.

Natasha defeated her with ease.

Dr. Octopus scaled down the Eiffel Tower far enough to enable him to leap over to a supply truck parked nearby. The chaos provided by the Punisher and Longshot tickled the hell out of Octavious. He knew that Frank Castle would not hesitate to blow him away if he had half a chance.

Octavious slipped behind the supply truck and stole away into Paris proper, fully abandoning the Black Widow to her own devices.

There was no loyalty there.

Orana and Mala saw the fall of Major Maxim as he was hurled through the window and fell the length of the Eiffel Tower to the ground. They were surprised when Major Maxim rose as if nothing happened.

Yet something did happen. Major Maxim began attacking anything that came near him. Ally or not.

This hurt the sensibilities of the two Amazons and they jointly decided to stop Major Maxim before he could cause more harm.

Ubu and Kirigi watched all of this and concluded it had nothing to do with their mission. The Midnight Rambler understood this and finally slipped in to deliver them to Rha's Al Ghul personslly.

A defeated Natalia Kassle asked the Widow, "How did you know I was from Russia?"

"The walls are thin. I could hear you speaking with Strucker and Baron Blood. When I heard Strucker's voice, I knew you must be a traitor to Mother Russia."

"And what of you? Strucker told me about you. You work with the Americans now."

"I was betrayed by the Soviets. I have not turned my back on Russia. Only on the Communist regime."

"What's the difference?"

"If you don't know, I haven't the time to explain it to you."

With that, the Black Widow knocked Natalia Kassle unconscious and fled after Dr. Octopus out the window.

Ubu and Kirigi were delivered to Rha's Al Ghul by the Midnight Rambler.

As good as they were, Ubu and Kirigi were handicapped by their racial differences and it would have been too difficult; even for them, to hide from the racist Nazis in control of Paris which is why the Midnight Rambler was ordered to whisk them out of Paris as soon as he could manage it.

With their arrival, Rha's Al Ghul was receiving the best possible news. It appeared his network of Assassins were appearing at all the headquarters of the major cities in this world where he had had a foothold in his previous reality. Metropolis, Gotham City, Central City, all the DC cities and many of the cities that existed in all realities such as London, Moscow, Chicago, Tokyo, et cetera.

Rha's Al Ghul had Talia back. He had a partnership with Mr. Freeze, he had a bargain with the Kingpin and the Green Goblin. Things were looking up.

Mala and Orana were flanking the robot Major Maxim, who had some circuitry damaged from his fall and couldn't distinguish between friend or foe. The Nazis were confused because Mala's blonde hair and Orana's red hair suggested they were nice Aryan girls and they wondered why they dressed so archaically.

But they were under orders to stop the Punisher and Longshot so they abandoned the two Amazons to try to take out those threats.

Orana and Mala kept Major Maxim confused because one of them struck as he turned to face the other until they finally whittled the robot down and the robot was left as a pile of circuitry and junk.
