I feel it's apropriate to bump this up from the back pages of this forum. I made a few changes:
Replaced Airknight for Silent Swordsman Lv 5. Airknight is getting owned too much by Gorillas in the new bans. And SS5 is good tech against those Vortex and other annoying cards. Though Zaborg would be a better option if I wanted that ATK, SS5 has that great techiness on himself. I sure am going to miss that draw power though....
Also took out the 2 Gorillas. Decided to just go more Cookies lol. Put in a 3rd DDA and a 2nd MoF in place of them. I was thinking for a while on either doubling on MoF for Blades. I decided on MoFs after noticing the only Spell card I run duplicates of is Scapegoat lol.
My biggest problem is probably the hefty Trap count. I have been beaten up pretty bad by Jinzos, but I can't give up those cards just yet. As long as I got some kind of advantage or Plan B, my deck should be fine.
So the biggest change was the Airknight for Silent Swordsman Lv 5. Might as well do a comparison:
Airknight Parshath
+Amazing Draw Power
+Trample
+LIGHT
+Level 5
-1900 ATK is very weak.
Silent Swordsman Lv 5
+2300 ATK
+Immune to opponent's spells such as Vortex, Snatch, and SoRL
+LIGHT
+Level 5
-Airknight's effect is better
Though Airknight's effect is better than SS5's, SS5 provides much more stable and dependable field presence than the feeble Airknight. So the lesson learned is: slow and steady wins the game.
i would take out one dust tornado and ceasefire for more meta's cuz after the new banlist, Chaos and Meta will be the only good decks and both were hurt/stabed by the new banlist
I'm anti 2 Controllers or 2 Smashings. Both are just a waste of space. Ceasefire is still one of the most underrated cards of today's meta unfortunately.
If I were to make a Meta Chaos, then I would also replace my warriors for Apprentice Magicians, which I didn't do, which must mean, that this isn't a Meta Chaos deck? Meta-Chaos is boring, I hate it with a passion.
Well after going decently bad at a tournament today, I made some changes.
Turns out, those darn MoFs need to come out super fast, so I took out Dust Tornado for an Apprentice Magician. Also, I continuously got owned by Jinzos with my high Trap count. Had to dump at least 1 Trap.
Also, replaced my 1 and only Smashing Ground for a Metamorphosis. I feel rather exposed without a Smashing, but it's fine. The Morph can be considered removal with TERs. The deck is getting a little sloppy I think, but I'll continue with it.
BTW, on the Silent Swordsman Lv 5. Thanks to it, I did manage to kill some V Lords and attack direct through some SORL. I am missing the draws though. I'm not wholly sure on this either.
More synergy with RotA. Also, call me a n00b, but I like the extra attack power... it makes the attacking part so much more fun. 1400 gets you somewhere, and the damage in advanced format is so important. Plus there's a lot more trample these days, i.e the ever more popular Aggro builds.
Other than that, sweet deck. If the Silent is premium, it must look hella tight... nice.
I personally don't like Don. I just don't trust a 1400 ATK monster lol. I would run it if I replaced CF with Cylinders and BTH with Saks. But for now, I'll stick with the trusty Reaper.
The Zombyra is my synergy with the RoTA in terms of DARK for now.
I can't decide with the Silent Swordsman Lv5/Airknight Parshath. Maybe both?
Well I was thinking now and I've decided Airknight > Silent Swordsman. He'll be in the side-deck to ward off Burns.
But now there's something else on my mind: Zombyra. I've got 4 choices: Zombyra, DonZ, Kycoo, or Masked Sorceror.
I hate Kycoo. I'll never use it. I just hate it.
Zombyra served a decent purpose but there are bigger fish in the sea.
DonZ is a very good candidate. But I don't have one and they're very expensive.
As for Masked Sorceror, that seems like an awesome card. I don't know, it seems awesome.
Ok, time for another one of ezgil's comparison-analysis things! :)
Don Zaloog
+DARK
+Warrior
+1400 ATK is better than 900 ATK
+2 effects
+Hand Control is devastating
+Great synergy with RoTA
-Easily destroyed
-1400 ATK gets you nowhere
Masked Sorceror
+DARK
+Draw power
-Easily destroyed
-900 ATK will get you nowhere
Well as this beautiful diagram shows, they both have the weakness of, well, weakness. So DonZ is better I'm guessing. But my gut continues to yell at me and use Masked Sorceror. I guess it's just my sense of originality lol.
Good choice! BTH is fine protection for DonZ, except from IFL, in which case it wouldn't matter you were using a GAF. I mean, are they going to use a 1450 against you? Naw, you're fine.
He's weak, yes. But he's also advantage early game and the knockout mid-game. One of the most evil 'combo attackers', even though that's a bit hard to pull off. I mean, if you clear with Zombyra and attack with DonZ, that's 2 card advantage and a respectable 1400 damage. He works wonders. And having 1 in for the option with RotA and Sangan is helpful.
Thanks for comments, but I took out the Zombyra lol. I was missing out on too many direct attack opportunities. Well the deck is more cookie-centered, so am I done?
