Did you also read the rulings ? The first one says "the ritual monster is selected at resolution".
So if 1 is correct, then 3 is incorrect.
Correct...kind of.
"Select 1 Ritual Monster in your hand. Send Normal Monsters from your Deck to the Graveyard whose total Levels are equal to that Ritual Monster's. Ritual Summon a card with the name of the selected Ritual Monster from your hand."
That ruling is referencing towards the monster you wish to summon. Not the monster you're using as the point of reference when it comes to sending monsters from your deck to the Graveyard. That's right inside the card's text.
You activate the card. At this point you do select a Ritual monster in your hand as the reference point to the level you need to meet. Then when the card resolves, you can either summon that card you selected for that reference or another copy of it. He didn't say anything that wasn't correct.
You only send monsters at resolution as well, so that would imply that if you had demise when you activated it, you could still choose Paldin of white dragon at resolution.

I like you, Blegian, but you're not making sense with this post...
The card says to specifically send Monsters equal to the Selected Ritual Monster's Level and special summon a card with the same name from your hand...
You can't pick Demise, send 4 and summon Paladin >_>
not to mention that the first sentence says to select a ritual monster in hand. you technically dont negate a spell with magic jammer then throw a discard. the first sentence is the discard.
in ARA you must select a ritual crd in hand. now lets say you had 2 copies of said ritual monster in hand and mind crush was activated you could still summon the sencond copy. the wording on the rulings would allow you to sneak around the whole monster designation until resolution.

Like many have said, you're misunderstanding that ruling you keep referring to. it does NOT say to select the monster at resolution. you need to look at the ENTIRE ruling
• You choose the Ritual Monster you want to Ritual Summon when the effect resolves.
notice the bold text in the ruling? that is telling you which choice it refers to. Advanced Ritual Art has you make 2 selections, first you must select a ritual monster in your hand as a point of reference. Then you must choose a ritual monster (with the same name) to summon.
the ruling is simply saying to make the second choice at resolution. It says nothing about the first choice.
As others have said you make the first choice at activation, that's when you must set up reference points and such. Plus, you cannot activate an effect if it won't do anything.
