yeah but if you put this deck up against your fiend deck this deck would own it. banishers and fissures eat dark world alive. also this deck takes down most of the meta because of what it can do.
Saying that Banisher and D-Fissure with Double Viral beats Dark World and the rest of the metagame only sounds good on paper. It's your 6 cards VS decks filled with removal and not to mention, half of your deck's tricks. I digress again.
I know perfectly well what this deck can do. I've been running all different variants of Double Viral for as long as DDV's been released (though I've dropped it for the moment in favor of Light and Darkness Dragon).
The core of my argument is the fact that the deck is overly combo oriented. While you have Plague Wolf as a lynchpin card (and a good lynchpin indeed), the combination of RFG and Double Viral make card choices more dependent on convenience rather than strength. You have 1 CCV and 2 DDV to trigger out of a 42 card deck with no way to search for your Virus of choice when the need arises. This leaves too much to the element of chance, especially when your deck core of choice is the RFG combo deck, which is unstable as long as the pieces are kept apart. D.D.Survivors are pointless without D-Fissure or Banisher, both unsearchable. D.D.Scout Plane's 1200 DEF is too weak to handle most decks' attacking monsters (maybe except Yellow Gadget).
Using Warriors as the base is perfectly fine. Warriors have plenty of targets for Double Viral, from CCV-Greenkappa to DDV-Fiend Megacyber, with Zombyra and Maenae the Thorn in between. It's the whole RFG aspect that drags the deck down. The suggestions I made were geared to fit the theme you selected, but truth be told, Warrior-RFG-Double Viral is definitely not the best combination available.
that is something that I didnt take into account. greenkappa is a perfect card for this deck.
also if you read the deck this is common cold not double viral. there is a difference. and 3 cold waves in a deck that revolves around rfg is perfect. and it isnt warrior based it only runs five warriors but I might make it six or seven. I only used zombyra because I run ROTA which is something that you dont have with most double viral builds. If I add in green kappa then I will have three plague wolfs and two ROTA's for my viruses making a total of five cards that are good with either virus.
the comment about most of the metagame is truthful give me a deck that can survive without there spell and trap cards. my cold waves remove those and allow me another turn to get the resources I need. therefore without half of there hand you lose. play test this deck see what it can do before you assume that this deck doesnt work.
I didn't say it doesn't work, I simply said that your card choices had to be chosen out of convenience and not strength. Don't take words out of my mouth. Although I did assume this deck to be Double Viral. If it wasn't, why pay so much attention to what can and cannot trigger it? If it's in there for the pure power of it, 3 or 4 choice cards would be enough. In fact, the 3 Plague Wolf should be enough.
I don't usually assume blindly. I haven't tested this exact deck, but I HAVE tested a Warrior Double Viral variant with all 4 of the above warriors as Virus targets. When I built that Warrior Viral build, I took into consideration all possible DARK attribute warriors, including DDSurvivor. Combined with Shrink and Rush Recklessly, DDSurvivor made a very useful and reusable Viral target. However, I opted out against that because it just wasn't worth the 3-4 card investment into 3 cards. Admittantly, the build didn't include Plague Wolf nor Banisher of the Radiance, but the combo oriented nature of the RFG-centric cards were more than apparent, and it slowed the deck down. That's why I said that Warrior-RFG-Viral isn't the best combination available.
On the other hand, this deck goes everywhere and doesn't have too strong an opening game (yes, I've proxied it, with a couple of my own adjustments, since I DO prefer my edits on it). So far, I've let it go against my Oppression Gadget deck. Gadgets won out 2-1 because I outlasted the DDVs and the CCVs were dead. I'm testing against my Dark World deck as I paused to type this. I'll get back to you in 15 after I'm done to tell you the results.
So, my results are in, and I also tested against my D-Fissure build as well.
Your deck with my edits (not all the ones I suggested) did pretty well. Against Oppression Gadget, the deck lost 1-2. CCV was activated game 2, and though it destroyed a few monsters left and right, the Oppression part of Oppression Gadget kicked in and ended up outlasting the effect of the Virus. The game it won was due to a turn 1 D-Fissure > Survivor combo, and I did not draw into my Dust Tornado/Heavy Storm/Snipe Hunter quickly enough, and the Banishers would have helped you mroe than hurt you.
Against Dark World, it 2-1'ed. CCV was activated 2/3 games, and DDV was triggered in all 3. The game your deck lost to was due to my DW's own DDV. Your deck opened often with Dark Mimic or Zombyra. My Dark World lost out, again, on game where I could not draw into the removal (or had said removal subsequently stalled out by Cold Wave).
I also tried it against my Chain Strike Burn. Chain Strike Burn beat it 2-0. It might have been me getting good draws, but this deck has a weakness against burn decks that can't be stopped by just Cold Wave and Solemn Judgment.
I dont know you have a different play style than I do I have never lost to a burn deck and I have never lost a duel to a dark world deck with it. the only bad match up seemed to be the gadget oppression deck and I would have side decked for that. I have enough removal in my side deck that I would probably win that match as well. and I would side out my ccv against gadgets.
I am not sure how you played against your burn deck but I can assure you that I have stuff sided for that as well. I dont see how you lost to chain burn. it is all traps and I would just side out my traps for decrees.
also cold wave prevents them from doing anything for a whole turn. they can't even set cards.
