Personally, I like. The idea of someone trying to get an ICE-Mech more on par with a normal Battlemech is something I actually find appealing... I'm going to have to get a couple of these. At least these darn things won't have a standard industrial variant to clog up boosters >.<
TSM isn't exactly a new SE, it just shows up as positive effects on the heatdial, like it says in the design notes at the bottom.
I'm not sure how they mean the SC version is limited in the ballistic weapon. Do they mean low damage values? Or low attack?
The MWDA player in me likes it, the CBT player is screaming to burn the half-breed abomination! I'll wait to see the stats before I run out for the firelighters though ;) lol
11 attack on a non-unique battlemech that costs around the same as the non-unique Legionnaires?
There is hope yet for the Highlanders getting a non-unique unit with an attack of 10! ;)
Oh, longtartillery - the Designer's notes state that TSM shows up as positive modifiers on the heat dial, so no, it isn't a new SE. Which is nice, because it means that TSM doesn't require any additional rules ;)
It kills me to see the amount of high speed mixed in with evade and numerous times Close Combat is mentioned. It's actually a pretty cool scuplt but it looks like our guns on our mechs are still worthless....
It's like, there isnt even a gun anymore. In place of a trigger there is "Press here to beat enemy" switch on the gun!
Anyone notice the references to "the Liao version gains Jump Jets a few clicks after it loses its ranged attack" and "their ballistic weapons eventually run out of ammo"?

It just means that thier Ballistic damage drops to zero. Probably fast.
well we asked for no more ice mechs...so we get the closest things. Hybrids. It aint quite an ice mech but it also isnt a battlemech. eh oh well, glad to see that gave an example of TSM
Please god will someone please explain to me how a Mech with a Diesal engine is going to generate any heat to activate its TSM equipment. On another thought how do I get excited about another I.C.E. Mech making my The Best Money Could Buy Military Mechs EVEN MORE WORTHLESS THAN THEY ALREADY ARE : [
Nice looking sculpt though for whats worth.
An AWE striking Liao version for 122? Cool, but I hope Liao get a proper Elite mech, and not just this pretender.
Also, so much for the republic unleashing their awesome TSM on everyone - they haven't got anything yet! That said, it's nice to see that the Wolves and the Dragons didn't get this beast. We have enough problems as it is!
Yeah I would guess they have a low ballistic damage value that goes down to 0 pretty fast, after which case they gain jump jets. Before people start on the whole "OMFG CHARGEMONKEY THISSUCKS LOLOLOL" thing I am sure is coming keep in mind we don't know that their primary damage is going to be. Might be as low as 2 with the rest of its stats as good as they are.
