warflail problem is all of the newer people in the game know them as H. And half of the people that have been around like myself went with the official change and know them as H also. Honestly I even think some people use both H and HL to represent them in the same conversation.
Off the top of my head I couldn't give you a thread but trust me they are there.

Yeah rgsniper1, those posts you are refering to are probobly me. I've gotten so used to the HL that I'm having trouble switching over to H especially since I never spoke about Liao, but since the new set has come out I've been collecting them a bit and I'm still struggling with the abreviations. Habbits can be hard to break.

I understand that ye may just be playing devils advocate here, fine. Yer father is calling and waiting fer ye.

But, out of respect to other HL players (which certainly ye are not part of) kindly limit the reach of yer nose where they rightfully belong. See? if we don't bother nitpicking on ye snakes why nitpick on our stuff? Respect to other players is clearly one which is lacking in this forum.

I like chevy,ford, and toyotas;big macs and BK Broilers. Coke and Pepsi. So if you can imagine it, I like Battletech in general ever since Battledroids. That means I like Highlanders and Dragons Fury. . So don't get your panties in a bunch. I like all factions. Therefore I will comment on any faction at any time. I'm stating this for the better of all factions. If you don't believe me I could I bet I could beat you with HL infantry ;) (See that's a joke, you're supposed to be thinking is he talking about Highlanders or House Liao infantry...uhhh NM....)

Second thing: Ye like all factions. But I dearly love HL (and I'm not alone). I guess that sums the difference. :) With the avatar yer wearing I could tell ye like Kretins the most.

Third: I guess ye'r the only one who does not get confused with HL standing fer House Liao, well, I stand corrected WK does not get confused too. But when ye say HL it's always Highlanders fer me.

It doesn't make any difference to me. Since most everyone still uses HL for the Highlanders, I will too. Most people, even newbies, are bright enough to figure this out.

WK seems to have no set means for abbreviations. Example: If Highlanders is H, Swordsworn should be S. But, then again, so should Stormhammers. Perhaps when abbreviating single word factions, the second letter should be lowercase (Hl, Ss, Sh).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't House Liao only one part of the Capellan Confederation? The dominant part, put still only one part? I know I read in either one of the novels or in the Technology of Destruction that Liao was only part of the CC...

Highlanders = HL
House Liao = Li
Liao Incursion (the set) = LI

Anyone that tells you differently has been replaced by a body-snatcher sent from the WizTopps lab in Bellevue and must be set on fire immediately. Or given a nasty paper cut. Whatever is handy.

LI = Liao

hahah you think you got it bad... i have been spellling House Liao as House Laos.... so if anyone is feeling stupid just point and laugh at me... bet ya it'll make you feel better.... as for this whole minor yet confusing thing... i do agree that HL is Highlanders!!! it was highlanders to start with and it will stay highlanders... and beside that was how i learned it... i'm sorry but i'm really small minded... once i've learned something it stays... you can't wake up one day and decide to change it... it's like saying that thing over there is a tree and then the next day call it a hungry fire breathing dragon... it will cause panic and that's never a good thing... call Liao as L, LI, CC or spend 2 more seconds and type in Liao for all i care... just dun call them HL... that stands for Highlanders!!!!

Nope, House Liao and the Capellan Confederation are one and the same. House Liao refers to the fact that the ruling family are the Liaos.
