nd as far as being "aware", that does not stop people from running house rules in their events. I'm sure more than a few of you have run across that in tournaments you've played in.
Not as often as I've run into misinformed players when WK changes the FAQ every month.. then having to check with the BM for how they would rule a hypothetical situation that WK refuses to clarify. Which I'm sure YOU have run across in your tourneys.

since Warflail seems like one of the biggest critics of everything and anything concerning the MW game, I thought my question was relevent.
Warflail, like myself, really likes this game. We see it's potential and it kills us (well, me anyway - Warflail can answer for himself) it kills me to see it floundering the way it is. Warflail's "criticism" as you call it, is the same criticism your mom uses when she tells you to get a haircut or eat your veggies. After reviewing Warflail's house rules (for use only in unrestricted non-sanctioned played only during full moons and in the basement games) I find that I've been asking for mostly the same things, in different threads, and in response to different discussions. Wow. Warflail has at least one ally...
DFA came out in what, May? And VTOLs still stay in midair when salvaged. Tank Drop has been a problem since day one of FFE and it's still not resolved. We had to wait almost an entire year to take care of BR Lego tag teams and that was only addressed because Arnis just plain cleaned house all on his own. Mechs still walk around with 'kick me' signs on their back while arty and vtols get better. Mortar teams can damage units with 99 defense as easily as a peasant company.
Tell me it's balanced. Tell me it's fun. It's not, and it's not. But it could be, and when it is, it will ROCK.
I'm here to drive a mech. You go over there and play your nice little pog game.
As Warflail stated before, the rules he posted here are houserules. Those aren't allowed/used for approved play. By the way, approved play apparently is jeopardized already. It has come to my attention that venues thousands of miles from each other in the USA have had the same registered player visiting the WizKids-approved event within a weeks time. Apparently WizKids isn't in the know about such strange phenomenons. Now there's something else to be enraged about.
MaxSteiner> If you're here to drive a mech, you were born about 1000 years early.
As far as the problems with the game... Sure, some units are stronger than others. But that's the way it is and the way it is in all games. This game is not as bad as you guys make it out to be. It IS fun. Otherwise, we wouldn't be playing.
I like but The agility thing is not right to me. Brawling goes though agility to a limit of 2 is my thinking and streaks ignore decoy. Ecm makes a unit unchargeable to DFAble if behind blocking terrain. That Still does not help some units thought HL ULLER or SW Cougar still get wasted even with thoses rules.
Nanhold> What is the point of your posts? Houserules are used in many venues in place of the standard rules in approved play events. I asked if he uses those rules in approved play events. As far as approved play being jeopardized, Of course it's being jeopardized by unethical players and BM's. As far as the same registered player visiting venues thousands of miles apart, I've done much the same. I've played one game and then driven nearly 400 miles to get to another venue and played another tournament less than 18 hours later. Is it really that difficult to imagine someone travelling and playing at a venue on the opposite coast in this day and age where we have these fantastical contraptions which use "jet" power to FLY!!!?!?!?!? Especially in a week's time. Honestly now.
I'm not saying that everyone playing in these situations are legit, but I don't see how I'm going to get enraged by someone who's played in a venues in two different states just based off the fact that there's a distance between the two venues. I'm not going to report something like that since it is conceivable that it's a perfectly legitimate situation. But a BM stating publically he's allowing retired pieces or using house rules? Sure. I'd report that in a second. And I'd be doing my job doing so.
WK is killing the game. I really don't think they know how to run a game company. Saying that, I don't really know either, but I do know when a company is doing a poor job. MW is popular despite WK.

My BLR-3G is right on schedule, I just called the dealer. And yes, it will be in cobalt blue.

Save your helpless "we can't do anything" attitude for some other thread. If people hadn't complained about units and rules in the past we'd still be capturing mech with hoverbike swarms and getting killed 1st turn by a dozen infiltrating DF SM1's. The game has problems, and they need to be fixed.
We don't make out that the game isn't fun. I wouldn't have bought $500 worth of pieces if I didn't enjoy it. But when $480 of those pieces stay on the shelf, unplayable, because of continued lack of attention or action by the powers that be, they will hear my voice. And the voices of others.
Learn from history: Wonder why no one playes Axis and Allies anymore? Because there is a fool-proof way to guarantee the Allies win. Fool proof. Once my friends and I tried it, we said "well, that answers that", boxed up the game and now it sits in my attic. Nice game but FLAWED. Game OVER.
I think Wonderbread is wrong my area I think retire will never hit us except for when leave thhe town. I think we just say all events are unregistered try to get us your never find our names on wizkids or where we live either.
The rules set kinda brings the game back to the Dark Age era plus VTOLs, plus min range attacking tanks, minus infantry swarms. Is this a good thing, not sure yet.
I would suggest always adding the +2 to an artillery unit's attack when doing the defense check, clear line of sight or no. They weren't designed for this, and I think their defenses are intentionally low.
On a similar design note, I'd make it so that tanks that do fire inside their minimum at least get some kind of to hit modifier and possibly a damage maximum.
For clarification, I assume the transport rule does not apply to infantry? They are still safe inside the transport?
Maybe you were trying to find a cheap way to bust me, maybe you werent. Who cares. I'd have to be really stupid to admit that I was BMing houserules in sanctioned events in public anyway. The idea that I would do so, even if I were a BM, is so silly that I didnt even understand what you were asking the first time you asked it. Anyway... who cares?
Since I'm neither a BM nor advocating using these rules in sanctioned events (except perhaps unrestricted), can we move on now and talk about the actual ruleset now? :P
@Wonderbread I would like to respectfully ask that you take the discussion about BM's and house rules to another thread, as it does not pertain to the topic of this thread.
@MaxSteiner Mark me as one of those that agree with warflail.
I agree with Warflail. Let's talk about this specific ruleset. Have there been any thoughts concerning changing the heat rules for 'Mechs? Things are reasonably balanced in these alternative rules, but there's nothing about the heat scales of 'Mechs.
