Is there a floor on reducing ballistic damage by one? For instance, if my infantry are ballistic and only do one damage, do they do 1 or 0?
I was thinking about playing Maclovia Saavedra - Centurion as a close combat mech in this scenario. Good choice or bad choice? I'm a new player so any suggestions would be appreciated.

The answer would be 0.
I was thinking about playing Maclovia Saavedra - Centurion as a close combat mech in this scenario. I'd say she'd be okay, but that's it. If she tries to go after a mech with any type of shield she's (censored) I'd go with something with both range and close combat uses
Pretty much the only scenario Mac was good for (if any one pulled her) was the 6" only shooting marquee
I was thinking Geoff Baker, backed by a horde of gnome battle armor.
After all, most folks will tend to go with assault mechs with energy weapons. Reflective armor (reducing energy attack effectiveness) on a group of battle armor (charge immune) in a scenario with -1 to ballistic attacks (roughly heavy armor for ballistic) would be nasty.
Add in the fact that firing formations overcome the defensive bonus, and they could be very powerful. Granted, their attacks are ballistic, so they are reduced to 1, but the Swordsworn version has armor piercing, I believe. And if they get in base contact and close combat, THAT is NOT reduced.

Close combat with infantry with AP ballistic SE would not pierce armor.

Your infantry would do Zero (0) damage without a critical for ranged.
I asked Raininva about that as soon as the scenario rules were put up. :surprised
It's time to break out the Highlanders. Heh-heh-heh. Finally we get to shine, it's a shame it's not our scenario.
Think about it though, Joel Nguyen and would be the king of this scenario. So would almost all highlander stuff with good energy attacks. ^_^ (or good melee).
Originally posted by Direcoyote Arnis needs to start and end his charge from outside Bekker's front arc, and IIRC, Bekker has a 360 arc...
Wrong. The rule is Arnis must begin and end his charge from within the targets rear arc. Bekker still has a rear arc. And Bekker doesnt have a 360 Degree front arc, its a 360 Degree Firing Arc. But technically the rule mentions nothing of the front or firing arc, only the rear arc.
The point is that Geoff Bekker's rear arc is NOT a safe place for Arnis Drummond to be lounging about for a turn to set this up. Or it takes a little bit longer to set up more effectively.
