Here is what they say about the Wendigo and Nova Cat respectively in the Mechassault II manual.

Personally, I preferred the play of the Nova Cat with all the lasers vs the Wendigo with the PPC and Autocannon.

Given WizKids past use of Microsoft Mechs, I would say that the above Wendigo is our most likely candidate.

Hmm, I think the huge mech in a Wendigo, while the small in the right-hand corner is the Shadow Cat...

And my god what have you done to my beloved ShadowCat the first mech i ever saw, not the lowsy cbt figure but the glorious artwork from the Battletech CCG in both its deadly A and fire support B configurations.

The A config was great 2 ER Large Lasers, Streak SRM 6 and Jump Jets.
or the scary B config with 36 LRMs and 2 Med Pulse Lasers with jump jets.

Anybody else notice how the Cizin tank has a similar cockpit to the Shadowcat? ;) Must be a Nova Cat Design, so expect to see one of these in CNC colors.

Also notice that the ShadowCat is firing 2 lasers and a PPC... Hopefully, it will be a smaller version of the CNC Nova Cat, with Jump Jets. Something to replace the SC Sun Cobra, maybe? :cheeky:

As far as the Wendigo is concerned... I got no idea. Given the fact that it is already portrayed as a heavy clan mech in MA2, I'd expect that it would have a passing resemblance to the Cave Lion, with PPCs and claws.

@Ravenankh. Odds are those are just medium lasers, not large. A mech of that tonnage would not do well to be firing off 2 ER Large AND a PPC in a single volley. So I doubt the damage output would be anywhere near the Nova Cat. As it should be. Best guess is it'll have 2 or 3 energy damage (probably one or two target) out to 14".

Like I said, it was the *only* detailed reference I could find. I never said it was canon (which I generally think is absurd anyway). The people that obsessed with CBT need to get a grip.

I believe Wendigo is from Canadian lore/legend. Something along the lines of a sasquatch/bigfoot or something like that. I wouldn't doubt that it will be a heavy or assault type mech with HTH capabilities, maybe something along the lines of the Berserker.

The Wendigo is more than just a sasquatch or bigfoot-type creature. It's from North American Indian legend and myth. It's a cannibal spirit that represents the season of winter, of ice, cold and snow.

Thanks for the clarification, I was thinking it had something to do with spirits/spectres also, but just couldn't remember correctly. doesn't it howl or something like that to make it's presence known or when its presence known to its victim?
