Okay, let's get specific. I live in Toronto, and don't know of any stores/organizations that are taking VS. under their wing and setting up qualifiers. If I could convince a store to run one, who would they need to contact to set it up?
Will UDE ever post a list of official qualifying events so that if there is one relatively close I can get to it (say Detroit or Buffalo)?
I want to take this game very seriously (I haven't been this gung ho on a game since 1998), so it'd be nice to actually get a chance to before GenCon...
How about we get a playtest group together for those serious about wanting to play on the tour. I have started assembling a team here at my store. We are slowly making our way through the cards and have started constructing decks and testing. I plan on starting to post results based on our playtesting soon. I think anyone that puts in the work and makes an effort to become better should be given a chance to make the team.
We could have weekly tournaments Sunday afternoons via Apprentice and we can have a special irc channel to meet for regualr playtesting through the week.

Go Leafs. I will tell you what, Beyonder. Would you want your beloved tree-droppings to make it to the Finals if they are not assured of winning the Cup? You get my Stars through three rounds, I will get your leaves... then we are on our own. -this has been a public service announcement of the National Hockey League-
Back to the game at hand. I am sure there will be a qualifier near you before Origins. That post on this thread that announces Salt Lake City on May 15 has me convinced that each and every one of us will have an opportunity to fail before Columbus.

If anything, the fact that I gave you some solid dates for Vs. System Qualifiers should tell you that most of UDE's PTOs are working right now on scheduling and arranging these events. :) There will be a series of Circuit qualifiers for GenCon on top of the Origins events, and other events and promotions that will lead into the first Pro Circuit stop.
Details are still being hammered out, and I'm sure you'll see them posted on PTO websites and probably here as soon as they're announced.
Originally posted by stubarnes ... to correct a real Upper Deck guru, but my beloved Omeed is wrong... there are 248 seats available for the two big Origins events. You can pre-register at: https://secure.portentinteractive.com/origins/site/
We love you anyway, Omeed.
Unless you are operating with some inside info I don't have, I doubt this is true. As someone who was in charge of Organized Play and has ran events at Origins, I can tell you that their event submission requires a maximum number of players, but that in no way limits the amount of players your event can have. So while there might be only 200 spots for you to buy event tickets, you can still buy generic tickets, etc and play in the event. The only limitation would be if UDE didn't want over a certain # of players (which I doubt they would).
If you follow the links on the Origins site, it states 248 seats available, and a running count of how many seats are left. I don't know if they plan on extending the limit on the day of the tournament, I was just repeating those figures from their website.
Yes, Origins always has a limit for players for the number of real event tickets you can buy (as I stated), but there are other routes to go as well, like generic tickets.
I'm still pondering a good way to distribute the 'golden tickets'. I can tell you this though..it will not involve $$$ in any way (no paid membership, no donation requirement). It'll be based on skill... And I'm seriously towards a "King of the Ring" challege at some of the conventions preceeding the start of the pro circuit. Picking the first member of "Team RealmWorx" will probably be the hardest; after that... I'm thinking of a "whoever can beat him/her gets on the team". LOL Who knows. We'll come up with a couple different ideas and have the community poll on which one they like.
I'm just waiting for more info on the OP system in general, let alone the Pro Tour :)
Is it just me, or does anyone else think UDE's site contains very little updates/useful info? It's somewhat annoying having to travel to multiple websites each day to hope to stumble upon some new info (like when I found out there are two more $10k tournaments scheduled).
I am looking into playing on a competative level , I am already going to GenCon indy for the wwe raw deal events that weekend with the rest of my team , the poison clan ...
