too bad my local store doesn't get their pcq till aug.20...of 2005
Well, the only way you would be able to test is if the PTO brought in a level 3 or a UDE representitive to do the testing. I honestly don't foresee UDE sending a representitive to a PCQ to test, so you will either need to attend one of the larger events, (like a 10K or Pro Circuit) or hope there is a level 3 available for your PTO to bring in.
UDE are sending a rep to my local PCQ so that I can do my test. Then again I am in Australia and we only have a few a year. Plus this is the first PCQ in my city so I am not surprised that the rep was willing to come over :)
Well seeing that I am in Adelaide, small captial city in South Australia not too many, around the 30 mark although alot of MtG players are now playing so I am expecting around 40-60 at our PCQ. The Sydney $10k event will be a big one I would expect around 150-200 at least
For those that are now lvl 2 judges how hard was the test?
I am not asking for you to give me the questions or anything silly like that but I am a bit nervous and would like to know what areas to concentrate on
I know, you really wanted more details, but unfortunately I can't provide many. Read through the Comp. Rules, and know how things in the game work.
Things?
You know, like combat, recovery, Humility (oops.. wrong game). You can't bring any outside notes, cards, or documents with you though. You can ask for scratch paper, but that's about all.
If you are being prescreened or interviewed, be polite and honest.
There are no level 3 UDE certified judges. There may be soon, but not as of yet.
The test is hard. no really. I took it and thought i did well,...i had just read the comps for my second time RIGHT before taking the test. Read the questions very carefully,..like 5 times. 3 wasnt enough.
Originally posted by Mechachu be sure to BRING your cards, your aloud to look at you own cards and set things up and stuff like that. It helps at time to see it played out instead of on paper
Actually, I asked specifically if I could do this and was not allowed to. It kinda sucked since I spent an hour or so digging out single cards to make sure I'd have one of each for the test.
I've been told that way back when, a certain mr Jeff Donais played a certain other card game at my LGS. he should come and administer upper level tests at our events, just for old time sake! lol.
I really wanted to go to gencon to take the lv 2 VS and YGO, but i couldn't make it. I am not gonna make it to socal, or pc3 in germany, or 4 in new york. if they don't send us someone for the PCQs and such, i am not gonna get a chance to take the tests till origins next yera, and i don't want to wait that long.
I don't think the test was that bad all in all, but i missed a few ending with an 88, I'd say mostly make sure you learn the timing of EVERYTHING. I personaly only read the comp rules once, but i have a pretty good memory, either way good luck to any who take it.
