God, I hope there's a 4 or 5 drop for the X-Men that says "you are teh win", because this just doesn't seem to be it. If it didn't require a discard, it'd be about right, though I still say that stats are too low. If you give him loyalty, you could make him a 4 drop and it'd be really cool.
I'm tempted to use him mainly to have Sunfire and Starfire out on the field at the same time... which is which? ^_^
Man, this card is medicore. More importantly, the author didn't seem to know what he was talking about. This doesn't help against Rigged at all. Child of Valeria, and if he responds with Sunfire, then go off with the tricks. If he doesn't respond, go off with the tricks anyways. Plus, part of Alfred's cost is returning him to your hand, so Sunfire should never be able to stun him.
He's anti-Sents, a little bit of Anti-Brohood/ Titans. But nothing better than a secondary. Unless they have some new crazy X-Men PTs that let you ready everybody on your team (a la Cosmic Radiation). Then, this guy and FSB become rather nasty.
lol, theres an idea. use X-men to discard hand, then get killer effects out tt's like Starfire and Omen. all of a sudden the discard becomes good. though, you'll need 4+ team ups, it's still pretty good.
oh, and on that sentinel thing. i think the gcpd may have something to protect against that stuff. atleast it lessens that vomit. which gets annoying with only a like 6 diffrent cards. Wild, IV, Long, Cover, Recon and either Protocals or some other sentinel plot twist. some have senator kelly, but it's not much either way. and since sunfire is 5 drop, you can play mark II on turn 4 or 5. that way you can still rush.
wait, GCPD have utility belt. they only need one against the plot twist.
Ugh, can we give the X-Men more discard? Yeah, we know that is the whole theme of the X-Men, discard for their powers to work, but can we get at least one card that helps them bring cards back? Try using X-Men with discard and it becomes apparent that they suck hard because you run out of X-Men character cards to discard if you happen to recruit one every turn and discard for even some of their abilities.
Great, Cerebro allows them to draw out more characters from the pile, but that also ends up costing them plot twists, locations and equipment that end up going to the bottom of the deck.
Anyway, back to Sunfire. I really hope they have some sort of big 4 drop like Thunderbird - James Proudstar hidden in there to make up for this card. Sorry, but stunning a combo of 3 cost really doesn't give much to shout about and did he have to be so weak in ATK and DEF? Since when do X-Men need protection from weenie decks like Sentinels and New Brotherhood? I dunno I guess New Brotherhood is a challenge at times, but overall if you pack Overload they aren't that bad to deal with.
Sunfire's stats at first glance is hugely disappointing. Not another weak 5-drop?? And a discard mechanism on top of that?? And a rare??
It occurs to me that the author is exagerating a bit. Unless there are some 'really powerful' X-Men cards coming out. Here's hoping for a powerful X-Men plot twist or location.
They should just have a Plot Twist that goes something like "Return all KO'ed X-men cards to your hand" and bam, every discard-requiring X-man becomes useful!
You never know, Sunfire reminds me of Reign Of Terror (besides the fact it's TURN 5, thus making it almost pointless), but might show some usefulness...
