Top 50 Constructed 39-11 N.America-nonNA
Top 100 Constructed 71-29 N.America-nonNA
Top 150 Constructed 106-44 N. America-nonNA
So it should be 3-1 on PC's. Who knows maybe in the 3rd seaon it will be 2 each. Maybe in the 3rd season they will add a World Championship and it will be 4-1 or 3-2.
Ratings are about the worst possible measure when you're talking about correcting an imbalance in the distribution of the tournaments that allow for the greatest changes in rating. Total player base is a decent measure, but rating just isn't a resilient enough measure of playskill to be usable for a purpose like this.
All in all I just think we wanted 1 non American PC.
1 is fair to ask right? Not 2, not 3 not all 4 of them just 1. 25% of the pie.
I'm sure that we make up more than 25% of the whole shebang but that's all we really expect and all we really want. More than fair I think.
We didn't get what we wanted and that's why we're trying to kick up a fuss.
I've spent a fair bit to attend the last 3 PCs and being European that's no mean feat. I'm not a pro so I can't expect to always make good money when on the circuit to account for my flights and stuff.
The 4 US PCs next year can possibly well wreck my short term interest in the game as it nearly doesn't matter if I play or not.
This is particularly annoying as I've made lots of good friends on the circuit and love meeting up with familar faces and having the good times that you do onsite. UDE has screwed this for me and they have someway to go in making it up
As a part of the European distributor network and and as a player, I think this is bad for the game as a whole. It's hard enough pushing the game and keeping people interested that we don't need this as a further disincentive. Players like to aspire to accessible high profile events and this doesn't qualify for the majority of European players.
I was really hoping that UDE would announce a more extensive qualifying programme here in Europe accompanied by a "home" PC but this is not going to happen this year. I hope it won't be too late next year.
Not that I have anything against America, but do you have any idea how difficult it is for a non-white to clear the customs in the post 911 era? The hassle and harrasment that non-whites get is just not worth the effort to travel to the US for a PC. So I guess UDE has just alienated at least all of Asia in the process.

too right.
Last 2 PCs that I've gone to in the US I had customs treating me like a terrorist for no other reason than being downright rude.
I understand there's a job to be done and so forth but no reason to start treating everyone like they've already done something wrong.
No to mention the fact you have to tell them you're over to play in a card competition!!!
Ok, lets not start an international incident over this. I don't have a problem with the US (apart from their continued bastardization of the Queen's English ;) ) It would be nice to hear some clarification from UDE on the forthcoming PC schedules and the reasons behind the descision to snub johnny foreigner.
While this is a problem as a whole. if a non-us country were to get 1 PC per year, who would get it?
We could make each of them happen in europe, but then this thread will just be people from asian countries voicing complaints, or australians.
There would have to be some system to determine where they are held. and this would in the end make the PCs happen every but the US just to make everyone happy. Except of course the Americans who would suddenly get all uppity.
Is the only solution to increase the number of PCs? I don't think that is fiscally sound, unless people wanna start making alot less off of PC play, and defeat the purpose of showing up in the first place.
maybe they could alternate. 2 US, 2 non US. and try to space them along the globe. That way people always have atleast 1 PC per year that is near by.
Let me tell you, at my age it doesn't matter, as unless they are within a 3 hour driving distance i'm not making it there one way or another. And sadly the Northwest has some pretty sad support at this point (a whole half of our state doesn't even get high level tourneys, and the other half gets them now and again.)
Personally as much as I am biased and would like another PC in Europe I would not complain about any other non US PC at the moment.
I'd whinge and whine about rather having it in Europe but if UDE did have a non US PC then it would at least still show that the rest of the world is theorectically being catered for.
With the 2 big Gencon's locking up 2 of the PC dates though it might not be the best idea to do a 50/50 spilt at the moment.
However, the other side of that argument could lead onto what merdle said about having more than the 4 current PCs. Easy enough to argue for - more dates, more chance of people turning up overall. I'd like to argue against this 4 PCs are hard enough to attend as it is. Not everyone goes to each one but I'm sure that most people do want to.
Having more PCs means people can be more selective about which ones they want to attend but at the same time it means that you're more likely to miss another one

Well lets start by mentioning that we didn't bastardize the Queens Language, we decided through pure arrogance and obstinance to change it. Bastardization almost sounds to positive a term, we just figured that since you aren't us, you suck so your language must suck as well. Thanks to Daniel Webster, now U are missing from my colorful world and I'm alone and a sad panda.
