Andy thank you very much. It's great to see UDE take this serious. That's why I love this game. I live in RI ( the smallest state but a good amount of VS players here ) and as far as I know there are no hobbie league around except there is a store now trying to get one. I hope they get it because I will travel for it.
To License Hobby League kits through UDE, a brick and mortar store, must go through the application process. This does involve sending in photos of your store including play space, as well as proof of Federal Tax ID or state equivalent.
It's important to note, that there are no mandatory purchases associated with being an Upper Deck account. We usually only sell at case-volume, so the product is there if the store wants. The major impact that being a direct account has on a hobby store, is it allows access to our Organized Play support products/programs. Hobby League is currently the only official support-initiative for Vs. System, but there are others for our other brands. This support will only grow in number and scope in the coming months and years.
For a hobby store, there is no risk, and much reward for becoming a direct account.
HOWEVER!!!
We do have minimum requirements. Some of the stores you play at that say they have had trouble getting signed up may not be up to par with what we need to ensure appropriate representation of our brands/products. A kiosk, for example, that sells tons of product, but uses communal food court space to allow players to play games, does not meet our requirement of being a brick-and-mortar location, or having consistent ownership of the "play space" (food court). While we are more than willing to work on a case-by-case basis in determining these things, there are some limitations to what we can allow.
If you have questions or concerns about your (local) store being signed up, or wondering what happened to the random photos that were sent in, please email [email protected] with "Tournament Store Application" in the subject line.
Testimonial:
I can say with certainty that not a single Tournament Store Application has ever been purposely unanswered or unaddressed. There are occasions where our fax was down, or someone emailed 14Mb of photos etc. But without fail, all applications that have been *RECEIVED IN FULL* through proper channels, have been addressed within 5 working days of receiving them. Not everyone is accepted (for reasons stated above, or listed on the T.S. info page), but every application is addressed.
If you have any questions or concerns about the application process, please email me privately on [email protected]
Originally posted by Andy Gary is absolutely correct on this one.

Thanks again, and good luck!
Best-
What about international Hobby Leagues? i've emailed with no answer :(... its something different?
Outside of North America, leagues are distributed by our local Organized Play Reps, Country/Region Managaers, or sometimes (mostly in Europe) through local Distributors.
For Latin American, Australian/New Zealand, and S.E. Asian stores/locations, please contact me directly at [email protected].
I will need all of the following info:
FULL contact details for one (1) individual whom I can contact
Phone # AND valid email addy for that person.
Store name
Store Address
(including all postal info, like Suburb, region, territory zip/postal code etc).
Website URL (If you have one)
A photo (jpeg) of your store, showing:
- A. UDE Product for sale
- B. Your play space (where people sit and play TCGs).
Your Tax/Import/Customs ID# (CUIT, NIT, CPF)
Once you validate you existence as a brick and mortar store, with a direct contact person, we will set you up as a Hobby League location, and you will appear on the HL locator at ude.com/hobbyleague (so it's important that your details are correct, and to push your URL if you have one).
For European locations that are experiencing problems, please email one of the following:
Vs. System Hobby League kits cost $20 per kit to license.
That means any Tournament Store can License up to $40 worth (two (2) kits) per month.
BleedinGums- Let your store know that this is public information and came directly form the person responsible for creating, managing and fulfilling every league kit for UDE products.
If the storeowner has any questions at all regarding this or any UDE league program, please have them contact me directly at [email protected]
What I have found in the past, is that a storeowner who protests to the players that leagues are too hard to get or cost too much etc, are really just uninformed as to exactly how easy it is to get one up and running in their store.
Please feel free to contact me yourself if you have any further questions.
Cheers to all , and please have a safe holiday weekend!
