Oh, you want strange, stu? Wait until someone starts serving goat cheese and peanut butter cup pizzas, while I sing a lounge version of "Baby Got Back".
THEN it will be strange.
On topic, Biz has a great point. Hopefully, we'll see... say... 3 drop Kyle, 6 drop Hal, and... 4 drop John? Or some other iteration of that?
Originally posted by canamrock See, Prof, now I have to make a new thread or article explaining why direct stunning effects are so busted. Man, you people... lol
that would be a swell idea.
i am slightly dissappointed with his ability, and perhaps drop, he could have at least stunned a 4 drop me thinks.
btw what people also seem to be missing is that he doesn't read "activate > stun target 3 cost character" he reads "exhaust and stun target 3 cost character"
Y'see, Canam, I already KNEW auto-stun effects were good. I do like Gambit. The problem is that Gambit doesn't see a lot of play. Neither does Sunfire. Nor Hitman. Hawkeye (4) will see some, but his ability OUTSIDE OF COMBAT is what I find most important.
And you've got a good point, Biz. If we have a 3 John, 4 Kyle, 5 Ollie, 6 Hal curve for the deck, that'd be mighty swell. And all of them will probably have Ally abilities, the Hero's Welcome will definitely go in, and much, much more. Next, on Preview Weekend!
Gambit doesn't see a lot of play because his team isn't that good on its own. And Sunfire is my homeboy. Not my main man, of course. That's the good(-ish) Doctor Light. GA's power is decent, cannot be stopped by the Mark II, Scarlet Witch, or Utility Belt, and don't even start with him in a GL / Thunderbolts deck against a swarm deck. This Christmas, "Arrowed II: Electric Boogaloo," starring Beetle and Oliver Quinn. ;)
Direct stun is wonderful... and Green Goblin says direct KO is even better.
See, Hitman at least fits his teams theme very well. He needs to be reinforced to use his stun, so his 8 defense on 9 isn't much of a liability. He is also the defender when he uses his ability, so exhausting him would be part of the stun anyway. Hitman is one of the best deck themed 5 drops I have seen in this game actually.
We don't know the theme that Green Arrow is trying to fit just yet, so maybe he will be wonderful. Maybe they have a lot of ready but do not attack effects, and that woudl be great. Maybe combining him with Thunderbolts is the key... and use Press The Attacks.
Swing in on a 3, and power up.... ready him during the attack and then activate. Once your defender stuns, he readies again. That turns every readying effect nto a direct stun for him, which isn't bad I suppose... assuming he can be powered up on every attack.

Preview season. I'm recharging my batteries, which is causing a surplus of nicey-nice. Swing by around New Years if you want see super meany-pants Bizarro again.
Ally: Whenever a character you control becomes powered-up, put an Arrow counter on Oliver Queen.
Activate, remove all counters from Oliver Queen --- Stun target character with cost less than the number of counters on Oliver Queen.
I agree, it would indeed. But maybe we will see an ally card that says whenever a character becomes powered up you can ready a character. They we are well on our way to another infinite challenge.
