It was really a tough call between Doom and Sabretooth for the top spot at the end Feral Rage prevailed and this was already debated previously.
I know that Doom gives you that extra plot twist when comes into play and prevents opponent from using plot twist from their hand. I try to look at this and realize that the 2nd effect is dependent if you have another non stunned Doom Character. In a normal game play they usually get stunned and prevent the 2nd effect to take effect. 7/9 at 4th turn is good. No doubt about that, but still dependent on Doomstadt. Set up properly, Doom is very good but lots of dependency and contingency to make him worked properly. Vs pros may not have a problem handling him with all those tricks but what about new guys who still trying to learn the ropes.
Sabretooth on the other hand has the biggest stats on 4th drop alone and only have one dependent modifier which is to have an extra brotherhood in hand. 11/7 is a big stat. One on One with Doom with no plot twist or location who do you think would win?
if you didn't like his last lists then why even click this thread, I mean seriously you're just being jerks now. seriously if you don't have nothing nice to say, shut the #### up.
I like your lists unitedheroes. I like to see the opinions of other players on characters. You have a unique perspective, and I respect that.
I still think Doom is better than Feral Rage if we ignore Reign of Terror and Mystical Paralysis but you have to consider those cards. They are the best stall ad board control cards in the game and it gives any Doom deck something very powerful off-initiative, which is what all good decks need to succeed in Vs. Feral Rage off-initiative gets stunned by a Mark II + Savage Beatdown or something and the deck he's in is probably too aggressive to be able to stop it.
Originally posted by unitedheroes Welcome to the 4th installment of the best drop per turn. This time around we focused on the 4th drop only for Marvel VS. DC would get their turns after the JLA set. This is a crucial segment and missing the 4th drop diminished your chance to actually winning the game.
Army decks have been omitted as explained on previous threads. (Please check Drop 1 - 3) No doubt Sentinel Mark V is one of the best 4th drop but he would still get his turn once the Army List has been posted.
After much controversy, the list is quite arbitrary and your list would be a welcome one in this thread, in this way we could compare notes and try to analyze who is best per ranking.
10. Kang, Master of Time 6/6 Kang Council
Below average stats and basically Kang has a hard time on causing breakthrough. However, his ability to discard a card at the start of combat phase and draw two later before the recovery helps you streamlined your hand for future used. Kang’s theme is usually thinking in the long term. Having him concealed helps him from getting stunned as well.
9. Will of the Wisp, Jackson Arvad 7/7 Spider-Friends
Stats are average with the additional benefit of flight and range. Evasion goes hand in hand with the Spidey Evasion deck. One good thing about him is that every time he recovers he gets a +1/+1 counter.
8. Iron Man, Tony Stark 7/7 Avengers
Iron Man is quite helpful only when you have Avengers characters adjacent to him. The +1/+1 with flight and range is really a big one especially if you still have lot of characters besides him. Cap Am becomes 7/5 or Quicksilver 5/6 during the 4th turn alone.
7. Moon Knight, Marc Spector 7/6 Marvel Knights
Moon Knight is quite under-rated due to his ordinary stats. Defensively he is weak, but offensively he goes 10/7 during your 4th turn if you have the initiative. His boost is merely a contingency plan if you don’t have a 7th drop.
6. Heinrich Zemo<>Baron Zemo, Baron of Zeulniz 7/7 Masters of Evil
Am stärksten zum Spiel mit kleinen Buchstaben. The Baron’s stats are average, but he is the counter part of Iron Man for the Masters of Evil. Plus he is a good combo for most faces of evil deck. He can swing a stun above the curve for most weenies that is adjacent to him.
5. Bullseye, Deadly Marksman 9/8 Crime Lords
I am pretty sure you missed this guy who happens to be the strongest on turn 4 during Marvel Modern. Against the big guns, he can still handle himself pretty good provided you have a plot twist/location to discard. The 9 Atk is still good to stun a 5-drop.
4. Spider-Man, Peter Parker 7/7 Spider-Friends
Average stats. Evasion deck must have character. His ability to ensure your characters won’t be KO by “Finished Him” is a good one to stay alive and fight another turn.
3. Hawkeye, Clint Barton 8/5 Avengers
This Avenger Reservist sure can be a flexible strategy character with his ability to stun with total cost of 2 or less that can easily handle weenie decks. Having an Atk of 8 is still above average. Can work both ways whether you have the initiative.
2. Dr. Doom, Diabolical Genius 7/6 Doom
Not much on his stats, but his control mechanism helps him during this turn with plot twist like mystical paralysis or reign of terror. Common Enemy must on turn 4. Defensively with the combo of Doomstadt he gets additional +3 Def which enables you to hold the fort much longer. One good thing about him is that if you have another Doom character you can prevent plot twist being play from opponents hand.
1. Sabretooth, Feral Rage 11/7 Brotherhood
Still the strongest 4th drop and with the aggressive strategy employed by the brotherhood he really fits them like a tee. His drawback of discarding a brotherhood is not much considering the benefits he can provide you once he is in the board.
Luke Cage was part of the honorable mention, but I need to bump him off to give room for the other characters. With his 8/7 stats was slightly above average, but his ability of attacking hidden characters is big plus not to mention drawing an extra card when you KO a character on combat phase.
Thanks for your input which is really valuable. I can't argue with a former VS champion, but on your own who do you think should be the top 10. Next time your in Manila, the lunch is on me.
Oooookaaayy. Dude, this isnt YuGiOh. Here, cards make it big because of thier playability with other cards. Which in all honesty is why Doom should be numer 1. You pointed out that he needs another doom character to work. How hard is that? Unless your playing agains a KO deck, your bound to have someone else.
i used to think like you did. OMG its Sabertooth. 11/7. But after a while i just didnt care. GLEE decks and Curve sentinel can soak the damage and throw it back in your face. Doom provides more control. Your from RP right? Sabertooth is goin' for P700 while doom only goes for P100. And ive seen Sauron do just as much damage as Sabertooth.
All in all, your lists are fun, but try not to sound like the leading authority in the game.
And juz for the record Cassie Caine can whip any of the 4 drops on the list (hehehe)

Leading authority? How?
I am not even trying to. I have asked a lot of people for who they think is best per turn and each would give you a different answer. All I want is to find who people think are the best character per curve. I put mine and give my opinion why they are there. As simple as that, I have no idea what people are trying to think here.
VS is supposed to be fun and for me posting this is just that FUN. I see people wanted to fight during the tournaments, which take away the Fun part.
cobalt man totally rules this. again the only problem is you have to have a justice for all deck... mine actually works! won a couple of local tournaments here with it. it's actually pretty fun. but anyways, he is awesome because he has two added features that FR doesn't, invulnerability, and you can play him as a 5 drop. I mean, A 14/7 on turn five? who can stop that??? that can take almost any 6 drop....
