For teaching, I give people mono-curve decks of their favorite teams (Avengers, Spidey, JLA, Curve F4, Gotham Knights, Arkham, etc).

Then, I crack open Titans and HV. Makes me feel like a man. Finally.

Actually, I can't see how teaching someone with Sq Supreme is a bad thing. It teaches game mechanics with a short curve, and many people don't get the concept of waiting for a kill turn, so they get to go balls to the wall.

I always start potential players with 1 of 3 decks to learn how to play VS.
NB, Avengers Resurvist, or a traditional curve of what ever their fapvorite team is even if that team is teir none. That is how I started (my first deck was a curve Leage of Assasins deck that I built from my friend's collection). I usually just build the deck from my collection as well as cheap cards from any where and let them practise getting the feel for the game. I also like to bring cheat sheets with powerful cards and card combinations so that they can get better. If they want to become competative VS players, THEN I break out the HV or GLEE to show them what it is all about.

I have taught about 4 people how to play using this system.

Thanks I've been looking for a easy way to teach my friend to play. That looks like a sound system. I'll try with that as I didn't have a hard time learning(learned wiht my friends titans deck and took it up pretty easy as it taught me most of the gmae mechanics.)
