You get Kona Lor on 2 for a FREE replace.
You get Dylon Cir on 3 for 1-2 FREE replaces.
You get Bron Char for a non-activated replace (maybe).
You get Ronan on 7 for multiple replaces AND a possible stun.
My buddy has a Darkseid/Kree deck and it's r-tarded. You don't Press except when you don't have anything better to do. (He pressed Kona, Kona, Dylan on 4 against me once with double Trapped in the Sciencecells up. What a beating!)
i dont have kree stuff but if its common and uncommon stuff then its not hard to get. id prefer to play Modern Darksied but if everyone feels that golden is better for it then so be it. I appreciate all the responses that i am getting so far and i hope it continues. Maybe we can find a way to break darkseid and make it the best team from the legion set.

He's pretty close already. No match for darkseid pwns legion/titans swarm, and his end game is muuch better than many of the others. Although the F.F. also have a veeery solid deck that's a blast to play.
Press chains up to Knockout on 5 could also be pretty sweet (that was mentioned in someone elses de-kree thread I believe) since if your deck is doing it's job you Knockout should be reasonably sized, with a power that facilitates the press mechanic as well.
It's a great problem to have that their seem to be so many options now for the face-down resource builds. I mean, Ronan 7 is the man (I also like Darkseid 7), but there are probably 8 ways to Sunday to kill a lot of your opponents quickly enough that you don't REALLY need 7's anyway. A Hidden Ronin-4 drop (which you can help facilitate with Shock & Awe) will definitely give lots of decks fits (even though there are answers for it).
Also, Curse of Darkness is a cool card. :) I'd love to make a Checkmate / Darkseid deck that uses Curse to protect Ahmed (and get 2 activations out of him in a turn).
Oh well, too many ideas for Darkseid, too little time...
after having seen all the ways i can build darkseid elite, i have decided to build a mockery deck with a bit of a twist in the character section of the deck. otherwise it is a basic mockery build. the decklist is as follows:
characters:28
4 mad harriet
4 malice vundabar
4 dark lantern
4 dark thanagarian
2 dark firestorm
4 dark martian
2 dark superboy
2 tim drake <> batman (this is the twist)
1 dark kryptonian
1 dark champion
plot twists:25
4 created from hate
3 the exchange
4 ravaged
4 dark fury
4 furious assault
3 unravel reality
3 sucker punch
locations:6
4 furnace of apokolips
2 dark matter drain
equipment:2
2 reality gem
as you can see i am playing tim drake as a 5 drop of choice because of his amazing replacement ability. each time a character that i brought into play stuns a character, i get to replace a face up non teamup resource my opponent controls. very simialr to malice vundabar but he targets any face up resource. I find that the mockeries are able to keep the face down resources gace down alot easier than the average facedown darkeid build, and are alot faster at beating your opponents face in as well.
I am actually working on a build very similar to cosmic entity's. I wanted to use mostly darkseid at each drop, but the mockery's have a lot goin for them. With most of your mockery's concealed, superboy is pretty devastating as your only visible character when it isn't your initiative. I'd say the main difference between my deck and cosmic's is that I run san on 2, I really like to make sure I have furnace of apokolips early on.
As for sucker punch, I think Crushing Blow is more fitting for the deck. It deals more damage and can usually stop the stun back. Plus dark green lantern can be used to similar effect as crushing blow if you place his effect on a character that will be attacking up the curve.
the reason why i am running suckerpunch is due to the fact that although crushing blow is very good it doesnt guarantee that your guys dont get stunned back. And my goal is to get all of my opponents face up reources face down then sub out tim drake for superboy and hit them hard for the win with dark champion and everyone else that i can sub in and out.
The problem I ran into with crushing blow is that when it's my initiative, I have an attack pump that I can't use. I switched those out for blinding rage, and I'm very happy with the results. Dark Lantern stops the stunback on my init, and sucker punch is for his init.
The other problem with crushing blow over sucker punch is that crushing blow will only keep one guy from getting stunned while sucker punch works for everybody.
Also blinding rage allows you to hit to the face when playing against a concealed deck where crushing blow won't.
i dont currently own any blinding rage, but with the way the deck runs as of now, against a concealed deck i would be able to push enough breakthrough to win by turn 4. like gator said i pack sucker punch b/c of the fact that it works on all my guys and not just one. as of now the deck is really consistant and hits everythin i need around 90% of the time, which is pretty good. the only problem the deck sees as of now is against rush decks. i know all of my guys are concealed optional but no matter how i do it i still manage to lose or barely win. i was playing a game recently against my friends legion swarm deck and the only reason i won that game was b/c i was able to pull a ravaged from my furnace and then i furnaced again getting a furious assault. if i didnt have an extra furnace in my resource row i would have lost the game by 1 point. final score -9 me, -10 him
yeah, it doesn't hit as hard as other rush decks. even with keeping board advantage, it still doesn't seem to do enough damage. I haven't quite figured out what it's missing. I think it's just a little too weak to win much.
as of now the only thing i can think of adding to make it a little better would be ancient thron to flip my plot tstists face down to resue them over and over again
has anyone thought of just playing them pure beatstick. I currently have a deck that does just that. I dont currently have the deck on me, but it uses dark fury, hoards of apokalypse, and other attack pumps to smash through the opponent. With the use of steppenwolf (a highly underused card in my oppinion) you can make sure you do a hell of a lot of breakthrough.
a combo I like to pull off with the deck is to play the 4 drop darkseid and ancient thrown. then when the play a plottwist draw the card then discard an unneeded one to turn one of MY resources back over, such as a coverfire (on my opponnents init. after I have used it) or an attack pump.
