I'm jacked about the whole new set, but I wasn't complaining about the "old style of previews" with new cards in them.
If this is the new school of previews, I won't make sure to stay up until midnight on nights when Conan isn't on.
What a disappointing non-preview preview. They played us while they were at it, too. "Zonos rambles about Spider-man set" would still have gotten the click from me, because he seems like an interesting guy to me. But it says "Marvel Team-Up Preview" and there's no card.
It's not like they don't have all 220 printed up already. Give us previews!
I really hoped for a card, but I guess it is too early for that. The only difference now is that they do these type of background articles about the design a little sooner, with some extra teasing.
We will see 3 more articles like this, about the other teams, in the next 3 days and the real card previews will start on Friday, which would have been the case with the "old-style" previews too.
You know what I'd like? A return of those "How we made the set/team" articles that detail the creative process. They're really cool, but would be cooler if they incorporated them into the spoiler process.
So, like, Monday - Design article going over the themes of the new Spider-Friends team, with a preview card. Tuesday and Wednesday - a total of 4 more cards for the Spider-Friends, with additional Spider-Friends cards goign out to other websites. Thursday - Design article about Syndicate, with a simmilar spread of previews over Friday and Monday. Tuesday we move onto Defenders, and so on and so forth. That'd be really interesting to me.

don't worry guys, you're still going to get the allotted 2 weeks of preview cards. the articles i wrote for Marvel Team-Up are pre-previews. it's all extra. all this "teaser" stuff isn't replacing anything. Toby just thought it would be nice to get them started a bit earlier.
let me repeat that one more time...card previews will run for two weeks till the pre-release...as per usual.

The Sneak Peaks are the 10th and 11th.
That would mean the Previews would start on the 29th.
So we are getting an EXTRA week of previews. These just happen to be in the form of talking about the teams and such. [For the Hellboy EC, they were on a compressed time schedule and thus did them both at once].
These aren't REPLACING previews ... these are IN ADDITION TO previews.

God, TBZ is biting his tongue so hard here he must be swallowing blood.
Seriously, guys, give UDE some credit. They aren't going to dick over a very vocal fanbase and rob them of their previews, because frankly, said fanbase tends to pull imaginary offenses out of a battered old hat and splatter them all over messageboards without UDE ever having to actually do anything bad.
Restated for emphasis (it never gets old): Enjoy what you have when you have it.
(And an apology for all your pointless b!tching might do wonders for your karma, too.)
"We’re going to talk about the teams and rosters before we preview any of the actual cards."
See that? That's your date telling you she's got a visit from Aunt Flo, she hasn't taken her daily pill in a week, and that the only thing her mailman father loves more than the chastity belt he's got chafing her waistline is the shotgun he likes to call "Bloody Sunday." Any blueballs you get are your own damn fault for not...reading...the header of the article. RTMFC.
I'm all for being snarky, but let's save it for those who might actually deserve it and not the ones who are doing us favors. :p
I actually think this is superior to a preview. Look at all the speculation that list of Spider-Friends can lead to. I am already drooling at the prospect of a dual-affiliated New Avengers roster.
