To echo what others have said, the naysayers didnt get owned, they got exactly what they wanted.

I knew that arguing my point would result in a lose/lose situation for my credibility, so my reason for arguing wasnt to 'be right.' I was playing devil's advocate because some people refuse to look at things in a negative light to evoke positive change. A simple statement can mean so much, and I am glad Jeff made his post to justify the 'naysayers' disobedience. If people were simply complacent with the OP situation, Jeff would have had no reason to make that announcement, and we would all still be in the dark. It doesnt actually change the situation, but it puts many people at ease.

Someone had to say it Tim and you did with compassion, clarity, and a calmness that many others didn't share. I can now plan on going to PC Indy and can many other players. Now to get a $50K in St. Louis/Chicago not tied to Gencon Indy ...

Yes Tim... but who's to say that Jeff would not have still made that announcement even if no one complained.

All I asked for was patience and understanding. I even gave probable reasons why things may be the way they are (err... were). But eveyone just jumped on the "Not good enough... I expect more (or as much as Magic)" bandwagon.

Just as you feel justified to say that some people refused to see things in a negative light, I felt that there was too much negativity without the proper objectivity.

Regardless... I'm counting the seconds until the next complaint... and for Jeff to Beatdown accordingly.

Thus, now was the perfect time to announce it, just in time for people to start making plans for GenCon Indy ;)

I dont really want to take 'credit' for Jeff making the annoucement. If I was the only one bringing up the issue, Im certain he would have said nothing in response to my plea. The fact that many of us made a distinct concerted effort is what did it. I have no doubt that there would be a Metagame.com annoucement about it sooner or later, but it would make no sense for Jeff to make the annoucement on VS Realms if no one brought up the issue. I knew that PC Indy was still on, what I am more concerned/exited about is the 'full status update' that will happen by next friday.

friggin awesome, this day could not get any better. My sneak peek went great. 3-2 main event and 2-2 in a flight, but I got the mat as a door prize. Also opend up one of those new product (the one that has a random rare like Enemy HAB and Superman, ugh), I didn't get the beatdown from the box, but my one MOR pack yielded me a foil savage beatdown. Along with 2 answers, one in each pod and some other good rares, this day was just great, now tomorrow I begin the modern planning with my playtesting partner

There was an announcement a while ago when they announced the 3 PC format that said the 2nd PC would be the "new" Modern format (consisiting of the last two Marvel and DC sets). After seeing the Marvel Team Up set, I couldn't be more excited for Indy now!
