Bleh...Ok, Sen, go away. You annoy me...I don't play tournaments much, so the competition in my area goes by without me a lot, I was just exaggerating about someone sucking if you couldn't win with Iron Man, and unless you personally know me, which you don't...then don't call me a newb, got it? Good. Don't post unless you have something remotly nice to say...And Jacin...only because you are a Judge do I give you enough respect not to say anything back. It's my style on how I enjoy playing the game; so what if I barely win? As long as I have fun messin' around with little characters I've grown up with...so neh. =P
Respecting the Generic heros everywhere....and wasting them! *Ba dum dum* TWIKMAN THE LEGENDARY, comin' at ya'.

Let me get this strait - It's ok for you to tell people that they svck and they play IM wrong if you can't win with him, THEN you chastise me for calling you on it?
Grow up.
-I tell you this, no eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn.
I resume you mean THREE (3) silver dreadnoughts and an Iron Man (Rookie) on a team. Sounds fun - but for the cost of 1 Rookie Iron Man - you can get 2 Silver Dreadnoughts (which are actually cheaper). I LOVE Iron Man too but he's pointless to compete with in play. In my example above, anyone who competes can beat down the 1 R IM, 3 S Dreadnoughts using a team made up of 5 S Dreadnoughts.
HOWEVER Iron Man is FUN when you are not competing (it's been my experience) - such as playing theme games (Avengers Team, All Armored Teams, No Superhuman Teams, All Fliers, All Shooters, etc, etc.) - cause theme teams *TEND* to be weaker than tourney teams.
Despite the brewing flame-war, I thought I'd throw in that I *like* IRON MAN, but I don't think he's the most playable figure for the points...my main beef is you shouldn't really NEED to support a figure who is 100+ points with anything other than Outwit or Support/Healing. IRON MAN tho' needs help in the attack department, which is too bad. Of the three versions, I definitely like the V best because his AV isn't in the toilet as fast as the R/E versions...getting the damage "power boost" mid way through his dial sounds great, but it's not so hot with a 7 attack....
I still like him tho', just don't play with him a whole lot!
Anyway, yeah, I think V Iron Man is a lot better that what folks give him credit for. He isn't first string without some Perplex help for his AV. But with some Hydra/Perplex help, he can be a real beast. Throw out the numbers and the rainbow like dial is really impressive.
Even the 10 av isn't too bad - if only it didn't drop so steadily. The one thing I wish was different about his dial is when he gets to his Charge/Super Strength/4 damage click, his AV is a 7. I just wish his av jumped up here, even to a 9.
He was the first fig with a 12 move Running Shot. Throw in two 'bolts and EE - there's a ton of potential there.
He is fun to play with, but I would never use the Vet except in a theme team. With Captain Marvel out there now, I can get a better version of Vet IM for 30 pts cheaper, and have a better AV!

Don't both of those teams suffer from the fact that they can't be legally played? You can't use multiples of the same LE (unless they changed the rules and it slipped by me somewhere).

I think the argument is that, for 189pts., the figure shouldn't need as much extra help as he does. He should be able to, more or less, stand on his own. And, unfortunately, Tony appears to be a bit too drunk to stand at all in most of his Clix versions much less stand by himself.
Whenever I see Iron Man's numbers, I like to imagine that Tony is in the suit, passed out after 'the night before', and the suit is just flying itself doing the best it can. That kinda makes me feel a little better about how bad this figure really is.

JacinB is right.

I love Iron Man and I try to use him as much as I can, but during the Xplosion Marquee I had to defeat Iron Man to win Crimson Dynamo. Isnt that Ironic? (Waits to see if the guys from the Irony post see this!)
