Agreed, weird to see an outed vig live so long.

Here's the thing. If a mafia has ways to deal with a player without killing them, they will take full advantage of it. An outted vig is a great misdirect target (CMD or otherwise). He's also a good jailkeep/role-block target. Any smart mafia will put outted townies to use.
