Actually, as with all the stuff on the subject, I'm conflicted.
I think someone needs to talk to the little girl about her perceptions of gender. She could, if she wanted to, go to the Lego store, or online, and order her own custom Mini-Figs complete with 'girl faces' and 'girl hair' and just replace the boys in the sets she buys with new faces and hair.
But here's where I have a problem. I'm constantly told by children, "You're a girl!" or "You look like a girl."
I have a nice, thick goatee and they're missing the fact that it's only been the last 60 years or so that short hair has been associated with masculinity. For the overwhelming majority of history, men have had long hair.
Lego does not make a hairpiece for my hairstyle. All the ponytails are 'girly' hairstyles for lack of a better word. Should I write a letter to them about this injustice? No. I'm not the target demographic for their product. Neither is she. Until girls are just as likely to buy non-pinkified Lego sets, you're just not going to see lots of female Mini-figs.
Yes, I recognize that it's a chicken/egg situation, but it's not the Lego Corp's responsibility to LOSE money trying to make social change.
The really killer factor in all this is that people making 'boys stuff' have been under crazy social, economic, legal, and political pressure to include girls or face all manner of punishment, while 'girl stuff' is the most blatant holdout of tokenism.
I saw an article by some psycho Feminasty back when Mighty Morphin Power Rangers was out about how the show had a "surfeit of male role models". Wait, let's do some math. There are five Rangers, TWO of them are girls. One, the yellow Ranger, was given a SEX CHANGE so there would be MORE GIRL characters and it still wasn't enough. Any more girls would have made them a MAJORITY in a show marketed primarily to BOYS.
The Lego answer to girl Mini-figs is to give them big eyelashes and lipstick and "female" hairstyles. Should that be this little girl's perception of what makes her a girl?
That, in brief, is why I'm conflicted.
As you can see, given my stance here, the Gloriastienem thing was beyond the pale. You now have a Bavanni Infraction totaling 13 points. As we all know, you only need 8 points (Duh!) for a banning, so "Welcome to the first day of the rest of your suspension." (55 HUMOR pts)

Are Bavanni Infraction points as valuable as HUMOR pts...or clixbux?

I know that's an existing term, but that's not a Throwing Shade reference, is it? If not and you're podcast-inclined, check it out. You'd probably like it maybe.

It is not a Throwing Shade reference.
It's me trying to distance myself from the term FemiNazi because of my German heritage.
It amazes me to no end that people seem to thing that the Nazis were the only totalitarian fascist regime ever in the history of mankind.

I clicked on the link and I'm not sure of what I saw.
Some of what I read came off as anti-gay. Is that what's going on there? If so, I'm uncomfortable with that. Or are they pro gay (for lack of a better term) (or merely tolerant) and being sarcastic in a way that I'm not understanding?

I don't know if any of you use comicvine at all. I generally use it to look at character profiles.
Unfortunately, they seem to have tweaked the site and now when I try to do the kind of searches I used to do, I end up looking at reviews of storylines and it's almost impossible the character profiles I want.
I now have do a Yahoo search to get to the character profiles I want that I should be able to find directly on the site itself.
I want these clixed: Doc Savage, Fu Manchu, Tarzan, The Shadow, The Green Hornet & Kato, Conan, Solomon Kane, The Phantom, King Kong, Universal Monsters, Black Orchid, Manhunter (Paul Kirk), Xemnu the Titan, unclixed Kirby Fourth World characters, and Lilith, Daughter Of Dracula.

I was there last night and didn't notice that problem.
I did note, though, that it's one of many sites to end up with a shockwave error on my laptop. (which I think has as much to do with my terminally ill laptop as the site.)

It wasn't happening yesterday.

I never used it. But I see that when I do a search, there's an "options" on the far right of the search bar. If I click that, a list of things to search for pops up. At the bottom of the list, I choose "uncheck all", and it defaults to character.

Good to know. Thakee, thankee!

You would be terminally ill too if your boss took off for a few million years and left you to watch the shop while he napped under a volcano!
