He was out of town all last week/weekend, and I didn't plan a proposal. I was just talking to my girlfriend about life and plans, and we both suddenly realized I had proposed to her. Which she latched onto immediately with an affirmative. So, not done in the correct order, but not something he nor I are going to get bent out of shape over.

I'm assuming you're thinking of a fairly small wedding? 'Cause dude... I don't know how it is in your area, but putting together a wedding in just a few weeks... next to impossible.

I dunno. I imagine that convincing a dozen or so people to meet at a county court building isn't too difficult.

Well, to be honest don't you think that you better ask the lady to marry you first and then get the father's blessing? Seems pretty silly to ask for her hand in marriage if she is not with the program. Why do things differently?
