Ok, so I am at the last stage. A couple of things about the process though:
- It is fairly symmetrical and all the initial work is done. It now has to be stained, and then the shelves need to be glued. We may put some sort of protection over the stain but will figure that out after they see what the initial work looks like. The rest of the family will be finishing the last steps (their request) except for the gluing of the shelves. It may not be ready until the weekend (possibly) but I will be sure to show a finished picture with it full of clix!
- Adding the back panel to this was a great idea! Not all of the cuts and measurements were exact due to a combination of my lack of woodworking prowess and Home Depot's lack of being able to cut to precisely some of the measurements I needed (they were GREAT at the store though- no complaints whatsoever!). The back gave the structure much more stability and provided the ability for me to better secure the shelves through the back since not all the dividers go all the way to the top. Stupid exact measurements...
- I think I'm going to like the layout of the shelves. 6" was definitely the correct height. I think I may want to eventually add some rails of some sort to the top of the cabinet.
- Three sheets of plywood (or cabinet shelving for this one) was all it took. That included mistakes and multiple different cuts that had to be included with the leftover wood.
- A workshop in my imaginary basement would have been amazing to make adjustments on the fly.
- I threw a few figures in there just to add perspective.
- All in all, it was a great project to share with the boys as I was sure to include them in every stage and make sure they had responsibilities. They feel they own this project as much as I do! Not to go too deep but this was something I never had the chance for as a kid and it feels wonderful to share it as an adult.
- I am really glad I did this myself. It has been a really great project and something completely out of my comfort zone so I figure I could only benefit from the experience.
Great job.
It looks like Onslaught is crying,"Why am I the one in the corner?!"

So I think I've just read about what might be the worst snack you can consume --- Deep-Fried Kool-Aid!
Holy Crow, has anyone tried this stuff, in the shape of little doughnut balls? I'm wondering about the taste, though probably not enough to try it myself.
According to the story, the guy who created this concoction sells it at fairs. During the first weekend of the San Diego County Fair, he sold 400 to 600 orders per day (five balls per order).
Kinda makes french fries seem like healthy eats.
Tim Burton was right: "A square jaw does not a Batman make." Steve Buscemi as the next Batman! Luke Perry as Joker! Let's make it happen!
Yeah, there are animes like that. I can't tell if you want me to be offended by your take or not. I don't make them so I'm not going to take it personally. I was a wrestling fan in my early teens and I just feel like I out-grew it.
Nothing to be offended about...I was just poking fun at the sometimes weak dialogue given. I am actually a big anime fan. Fullmetal Alchemist is the best one I've seen so far...and I am sandwiching Brotherhood in there as well.

As disgusting as this sounds it's probably not as unhealthy as one might think.

I try to keep an open mind when it comes to seemingly odd food items, ever since the first time I heard of chocolate-covered pretzels and thought they sounded too weird to try.
But then I sampled some and actually liked 'em.

Geoff Johns was excitedly tweeting about it last night. I was sort of wondering if they are making it by just deepfrying the powder in dough or what :-/

In what city do chocolate-covered pretzels sound weird? Crazytown?
Catering to the lowest common denominator since Feb 2003.

I'm a huge anime fan as well and I'm loving Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood right now. I liked the original Fullmetal as well but I think Brotherhood's story is alot more tight and entertaining. Bleach is also a favorite of mine.
