Or, again, the Threat was a Bluff/Misdirection and it's not based on something outside of the game. It's not like I go, "You know, as someone who saves lives on a daily basis I deserve more of a break from you guys." (that would citing something from outside of the game). TAK-clause, near as I can tell, is pretty much something we only use in the games.
I guess that comes down to what you see as outside the game. TAK-clause, to me, is some thing built outside this game based on how someone has or hasn't played in the past in other games. So it's basically meta-gamming but more powerful in that it's "always" correct. When it comes down to it, should some one automatically believe your telling the truth in this game (if you used it in this game) because you bring up a clause about someone else (and you by association of using it in other past games) told the truth previously? My opinion's no but every one's entitled to their own.
I figure for those who think it's "Easy", try it for awhile. You don't even have to go the four years I've worked at to build it up. Just go for, say, six months using it to the tee - and remembering to keep that balance in there - and, hopefully, get a lot of hellacious Night phases too.
Then tell me how easy it is. It's like saying someone is "cheating" at a fighting game because they've practiced how to pull off 100% combos or something.
(And we just call it TAK-clause because it became the slang, H&C. We could just as easily call it something else named after a currently active player. Heck, I've probably got more history with it now than TAK.)

Furthermore they also have to "pay the debt" on any slight to them - failure to do so, again, makes it an empty threat.
That's a lot of work just to keep one phrase intact for the occassional benefit.

This conversation has clearly derailed the game, and that only benefits Rokk if he wanted to avoid a lynch today. I'm still thinking that either he's onslaught, or Mags and chuck were cult leaders, much like in The Guild. Either way, without a powerclaim, I don't think it's wise to leave Mags on the board, especially with how hard the game is being derailed.
You don't think it wise to leave Magneto on the board when the write-up suggests the Horsemen are a more likely Mafia?
Heck, based on the fact I'm Magneto, DF should've yanked his vote if he's really Brotherhood as he'd know the Brotherhood aren't Mafia. (My vote has remained on him in part because of this).

In a fighting game, I see it as more of an unblockable move. It's not cheating because it is a part of the game but still kind of frowned up as a cheap thing to do. I do admire the way you play to keep that clause available but it's just the mentioning of it in game I don't care much for. Challenge accepted though, from this day till 1-year from now I will not lie about my character in any mafia game. Furthermore after this post I won't acknowledge that I am doing that or even make mention of it in any in-play game thread.
To truly try it, I probably need to sign up for more games though.
(And, to be blunt zyx, I threatened the use of the TAK but I'm not the one who kept bringing it up as something to critique or slame me with...it's others who managed to turn that into a conversation.)
psnmario was Xavier
I'm Magneto
We were mason partners but psnmario lacked the courtesy to fulfill his responsibilities.
Xavier was the Cop.
JoH's result was "Probaby Town"
I was blocked (which is a real nuisance as I've got a nexus for my main power).

What else could be mafia? Brotherhood, Reavers, the Humans, Nextwave? Lots of possibilities for other enemies, and until someone actually claims a Brotherhood role and comes up town, I have my doubts.
Probably town? That's actually what it said? Or did you get a character?
Anyways... remove vote for now. Ugh. A lot of ins and outs here.
The result was "Probably Town" (the discussion about it was approx. 1 page back).
DF is saying he's a member of the Brotherhood.
Frankly, anti-mutant forces make the most sense for a secondary Mafia.
Potential Horsemen Mafia just from the GSX set: Apocalypse, Pestilence (Plague), Famine (Autumn), War (Abraham), Death (Archangel), Death (Wolverine), War (Hulk), Pestilence/Death (Caliban), Nemesis...even if you remove Archangel and Logan - and I'd be cautious to do so as Warren is the archetypical Horseman for that role - that still leaves a not insignificant amount of possibilities.
It actually leaves me wary of those who keep saying the Horsemen couldn't field a viable main Mafia on their own.
