I feel for you man. Between Mizzou and Duke, most of my brackets got shot to pieces.
As for the TV shows, haven't watched either of them. I don't get AMC, and just never tried Community for the same reason I never tried Dr. Who, not enough time for the shows I watch and the books I read. And the novel I'm trying to write. I'm sure they're quality, so if I find myself with an abundance of time, I'll check them out.
While this gutters does explain the usual cycle for the comic, I still find it very enjoyable. Yes, periodically crappy things happen to the cast, but it's more about overcoming those obstacles and finding different ways to fight and deal with those obstacles.
And best of all it's not limited by budget cuts, so more things happen.

However Raising Hope has been surprisingly good. I wasn't expecting much from it, but it has surpassed those expectations. I've seen a lot worse sitcoms, especially these days.

Thing is Wade, I don't feel Raising Hope brings anything better or anything new to the table. Hence my disdain.
Rokk is The Blorgons
Carlos is Chang
Truffs would be Shirley I guess.
Chaz would be Leonard
Who's Magnitude? Pop Pop!
Eh, I would've thought the overly-egotistical guy who's a little too caught up in his prior flashy job and whom everyone's jealous of and who puts on rambling speeches that always get him out of trouble - Jeff - might fit....
....but I'll go with the Daleks.
As for Raising Hope, caught one episode here and it wasn't bad - I enjoyed it and Clorish L. shows she can still teach the younger generation how to do comedy - but, honestly, it hit at the wrong time for my house (baby being kind-of a taboo topic there) so it's mainly been bypassed.
Best comedy of last year (besides "Community")? American Horror Story. It was simultaneously awesome and so messed up at the same time. It didn't jump the shark - it waterskied around in the shark tank while flipping the bird to the sharks (and the tree-hating twins pouted there were no trees to burn down in said tank).

Though, in fairness, it's not like "Community" planned the hiatus when they mapped out the episode scheduling. Maybe they could've swapped some episodes but then we would've compained that Shirley got married out of order. *shrugs*
"Abed's Master Key", on the other hand, wasn't a bad little return episode in regards to a warm nod of "Welcome back, table."
