Good to hear. $1400 still sucks, but it's less than originally thought.

So I had my interview today. I got an offer about an hour ago. Same job, more money. They're also giving me a month's worth of vacation time in recognition of my time on the contract.

Here's the kicker. My current company, the one being kicked off the contract, was overcharging based on labor rates handed out by the Department of Labor. So they charged the government more money for the same work/position as my new company. And now I have a job offer from the new company for more pay. So not only was my soon-to-be-former company jobbing the government, they were jobbing me.

Over all a good day for me. My one fear was not having vacation/sick time and that's solved. Since there are over 50 employees, the WARN Act applies and I don't get severance, but that was not my biggest goal in all this.

Dude, that's great news! Not every day that someone gets a raise by being laid off.

Just got a call from our tennants. Apparently some drunken prick drove through the mailbox and shattered it completely. Just what I wanted to do this weekend.

On a lighter note, last night we played Last Night on Earth. It was a lot of fun. The guy who loves to be the zombies said he came up with a scenario for the month of October where it builds on itself. He said the final week we would be fighting against people who'd been infected at a costume party so the board will be covered with my new Marvel Zombies clix. Thanks to Chaz for trading me his Wolverine. It should be fun.

So I opened.my.batman 1960s stuff and i got a full set and I'm happy about that but the bookworm I opened didn't have a figure just the bookcase. Anyone know of there's a way to fix that? I never had a QC issue with neca before.
