I still find it funny that Skymax is clear plastic but has no Stealth.
I have to say that I prefer Super-Skrulloverall. I just loves me some swarmin' Skrulls (especially when he totes around my modded V Skrull-doon figure for the Enhancement). Skymax is an interesting piece, but he'll probably end up in the "figures I never used" category (like so many of my little plastic people).
As for Snap, I'm not sure I'd use him either. I'm all about Sam on a SHIELD team but other than that I don't generally find myself thinking "Man, I really need to build a team with Falcon!". Just not a character I generally care about (well, outside of the Ultimates universe), and I play themes almost exclusively.
I have to admit that I have a great deal of fondness for the Super Skrull dial. I think it's a beautiful piece that fits together perfectly. The Skymax, on the other hand, needs feats to get the maximum potential out of him, which you mentioned. My problem with feating him up is that he's approaching a weight class he's less suited for. He doesn't have the damage potential to go toe-to-toe with the big boys for very long, and the starting Super Senses means a solid hit is going to leave him spinning. I'd rather send Hyperion or Power Princess against a big foe, and leave Skymax to hunt secondary attackers, even though he's an expensive piece to devote to that. He's like Penelope Cruz for me... I can understand why a lot of people like her, but there's something about her that's just not for me.

Yet, Quesada sent word to the Associated Press that Captain America was dead, so that the story would run in newspapers and news reports, and drive every speculator and cherrypicker to run and buy a copy. Haven't people learned not to believe anything the fat fool says?
Jenkins is obviously letting his anti-war sentiment run rampant in his writing, and Marvel is dishonoring America's troops in doing so. He has a reporter in Frontline berate him, saying that Cap is out of touch with America because he doesn't watch American Idol, or doesn't know who won the world series (which he does...) Little do they realize he doesn't sit on his can watching TV because he's busy training to save your life! Every decade has their own anti-establishment message, and Cap had learned to ignore the naysayers. He knows what his duty is, and he knows what sacrifices he has to make to do it. After a lifetime in defense of the American dream, America's greatest soldier gets cut down in a cowardly attack by someone he trusts, instead of getting the honorable death he deserves. Support the troops, my ###. I just hope they don't ship this issue to the forces overseas, no American enemy has ever come up with better anti-US propaganda than this. Steve Rogers is better off dead than to be left in the hands of these hacks and butchers.
That reminds me, how much do I have to donate to be able to negative rep? I want to knock ol_Dut's rating down a bit for making us look at Joe Q's fat face!
First, I was one of many who voted to have all the dials revealed prior to the pre-release in a recent HCRealms poll. Because we had always walked in to those events with full disclosure, I couldn’t conceive of doing it any other way. However, after this past weekend’s event, I couldn’t be happier with how the situation unfolded.
My friends, it would seem that ol'Dut has turned traitor. YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO.
Wait...did I just type that out loud?

Although I think Iron Man's getting a seriously bad rap from you -- he's the realist, the pragmatist, and he knew what had to be done (outside of the idiot policy of pressing career criminals into "public service") -- I couldn't agree more.
At least Superman got to go out fighting the neverending battle. Steve Roger got to take a bullet in the head for...what? As someone who's personally experienced that, I take this callous wasting of a character pretty personally.
I'm SO close to dropping superhero comics for good after a solid 25+ years of loving the genre.
Like the reviews, BTW.
God is smarter than we are....
Visit Heroclixin'! Or check out my trade thread. Molly Hayes' KO list: HoT Ultron, HoT Thor, SI Iron Man, AV Wonder Man, SI Sentry, LE Diana Prince, R IC Ultron, Pretty Boy, CW Kang, IIM Thunderball, TW Catwoman, OP Red Hulk.
I think that somehow life model decoy was used and cap is not dead, but will become Ronin in the new Avengers comic. At least I hope so. This would go well with the new Avengers set this summer, with Steve Rogers as an LE. I think that would be cool.
Terrific review(s) of a couple terrific figures! I really like both of these guys, at least 'on paper' (still have yet to try out Skymax, but I'm hoping to get the chance this next weekend), and I greatly appreciate you taking the time to examine these Clix with the patented ol_Dut attention and wisdom! These are some of my favorite reviews you've done, I think (okay, the Michael Roth one was DA BOMB), as there was a GREAT balance between strategizing and hypothesizing.
And editorializing! Great write-up about Cap. Whether he's 'really' dead or not, it's just a shame they had to do this in the first place. It really besmirches the character, and is an unsurpassed black-mark (unneeded, IMHO) on this mighty character's history (and this dude had LIEFIELD writing and drawing him for a while!).
But (lapsing into comic-geek here for a moment) to all those folks who think that Cap has been 'proven' not to be dead because Warbird / Ms. Marvel told Spider-Woman that he was alive and his murder was a hoax... You mean you really BELIEVED her? I thought she was trying to tell Jessica what she (Jessica) would want to hear to get her (Jessica) to sign up (or at least 'volunteer' to walk into a roomful of SHIELD 'Capekiller' troops). It never crossed my mind that she (Ms. Marvel) could be telling the truth (just as it never crossed my mind that Cap is actually dead ), especially taking into account the conversation with Tony Stark that followed Ms. Marvel's and Spider-Woman's. "It was worth a shot."
Just my .02.
Excellent review (as always)! Look forward to the next one (as always )!
