Both the Wasp and Black Panther had been stunned by some sort of electrical boobytrap device that Headsmasher had concealed in its heavy armor. Nonetheless, the brute had fallen to the coordinated attack of the two Avengers.

"That is what befalls those who follow Megatonne," said the mechanical alien that bore features of a jet airplane. "You shall all follow my orders now that Megatonne is damaged."

One of the aliens seemed to hesitate as if uncertain, but then fired at the Wasp. It had exacted revenge upon the Falcon after he had rendered Megatonne temporarily inert, and now appeared to have divided loyalties. Its black and white coloring suggested it knew no grey. Still, a rapid analysis resulted in the simple result: destroy the super-powered Earthlings. It fired at the Wasp, who recovered from the exertion of her attack just in time to evade the blast.

In spite of being battered by both Thor and Captain Marvel, the alien bearing a strange resemblance to a helicoptor gunship continued its single-minded pursuit: "That is the one with technology," it stated. Servo-motors whirred, both its arms raised, and it blasted at Black Panther. The Wakandan king was injured; he tried to hide behind some heavy conference chairs, but the rail gun the alien brought to bear tore right through the furniture. "Aaagh!" T'Challa cried, as the projectiles ripped through his leg. The Black Panther fell unconscious.

"Yes, White-Out," said the alien that had seemed to assume the mantle of leadership. "That is how we deal with organics that get in our way." It then flew forward a few meters and launched multiple missiles. One of them struck Thor and exploded with a huge blast of light and sound. Thor could hardly have escaped such an attack unscathed, yet the Son of Odin replied...

The Son of Odin just simply stared at the machine not even breathing hard. So intense was The Son Of Odin's gaze that it distracted Sunscreen, allowing the Wasp to aim her sting directly into his optical sensors, overloading them and causing him pain.

The blast shook Monica but she rallied back with a relentless assault of energy that spanned the electromagnetic spectrum. The varying wavelengths had the desired affect as White-outs already injured form was unable to handle the assault and he fell to the ground inert.

Meanwhile Cap changed tactics and dodged around Frequency to surprise Sunscreen from the side, using his shield to strike precisely to Sunscreen's shoulder servo, disabling one of his arms. Thor followed up the attack but Sunscreen proved agile enough to dodge Mjolnir at the last moment.

Sunscreen turned to face Captain America. "You dare attack us? We are here on a mission that far transcends your organic ability to comprehend." The alien tried to raise its metallic arms and fire a missile at Captain America, who had recovered expertly and had his shield ready. The damage inflicted by the Avenger meant, however, that the missile pod could not employ properly, and the projectile flew across the large room of the Baxter Building, exploding in a large console.

The alien Captain America had been attacking now saw its opening. It activated its locomotion protocols and slipped away, its small size helping it hide not far from the unconscious figure of the Black Panther.

The alien construct, seemingly a shape-shifting machine with artificial intelligence, would not be deterred from its object. Its optical sensors locked on to the diminutive form of the Wasp. "What do you intend to accomplish with such an obvious maneuver?" It raised one of its white appendages, which contrasted with its black body, and swung it at the Wasp. The sound of metal striking her small body was sickening. She flew through Reed Richards' large lab, already unconscious before she hit the ground. "Acquire the technology of that black-clad metahuman."

Another alien, bearing features of a fighter jet, challenged Captain America. Its metallic voice said, "Retreat now and be spared further losses, human. We are here for the technology and have little interest in terminating your lives, for you can serve us as the strongest of our slaves."
