I'd sent my trade to Kenny Grenier on Monday. It arrived Wednesday.
He was supposed to be sending on Tuesday, but I haven't heard from him nor has anything arrived.

Even though he only had an itrader of 2, mine is also low on this site. (I did much more trading on the original WizKids' site.) Plus one of his two is somebody I've traded with before.

I'm out a M&M Mastermind if he doesn't come through.

I see he was logged in yesterday, but now it looks like he is banned so I can't send a PM.

looks like I'm in the same boat and on my first trade too.(that's not much incentive for me to try again) but for the sake of more info for everyone the package I sent was signed for by a "April Halter" on 5/10/10

And thus continues the practice of HCRealms mods protecting the criminal rather than protecting the members getting scammed.

Ban the scammer, and the scammer is off scott free. Meanwile, there's a bunch of realms members who are out their personal property.

Yeah, because when there's a fire the best thing to do is just ignore it and hope it goes away by itself...
Seriously, what would we accomplish by letting a confirmed scammer remain as a member here? In what way does it help the ones being scammed? Not to be harsh, but the property is as good as lost as soon as it is sent out... there's not a whole lot we can do about it. We can prevent the scammers from completing more trades though...


Keep in mind that I am talking about the malicious bastards who keep coming back under new names with the sole purpose of scamming other members...

Can you ban their IP address as opposed to just banning their individual accounts?

I really do hope you all get your trades from this guy even though it is a slim chance.

I know I've seen this done on other message boards but I'm not sure if it's done on the Realms or not. However, if the scammers go to another computer they are ok and can work around it, like going to a public library or a computer lab on a college campus.

pretty much, yeah. It is definitely possible to ban IP adresses, and we have done that, but there are ways around it.

I can assure everyone that even though bad apples get through there are numerous times when scammers have been prevented before doing anything. We are not going to toot our own horns and blurt it out to everyone. Not to mention that we are not going to go around and say every which way we use to try to keep the site safe from scammers.

It is true we are limited to what we can do, but for what we can do, it has for the most part been helpful.

Hence my rant at the beginning of the thread. I was quite pissed at myself for not banning the person at first because our resources are not the best, and I could not pin anything on them.

I would also like to point out that only 60+ people have read the announcement, I wish that more people would do that when they pop up.

yup im out my Blue Beetle & Booster Gold Duo, and my Mister Miracle and Oberon DUO as well...... hopefully i can pull them from some packs later today

Remember Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, and how at the end of the movie they used their newly acquired riches to go around and kick the stuffing out of people talking #### about them on the internet? If I had the money and the time, I'd do the same thing...except with HCRealms scammers.
