Jonah Hex - 8/10 ... I really like the idea of being able to have a 65 pt. figure blast someone for 3 damage with a possible 11 attack, whether he's based or not. Sure, his defense is a bit low, but if your opponent attacks him, he's leaving your higher-point figures alone. I think Jonah is a great secondary attacker, or even a tie-up piece, but in no way will he be leading your team. On a side note, it's not really fair to compare this figure to the comic book character, as the battle pack is based on the movie. Of course there's no way of knowing this for sure yet, but I'm guessing this figure is a pretty accurate representation of the character in the movie.
Turnbull 4/10 ... I see a lot of people in this thread saying that this guy's only good for BT, but really, do you want to invest 20 points (half his cost) on a figure that will die in one to two hits? You put BT on any figure and you paint a bullseye on their forehead. With Turnbull, all your opponent has to do is figure out a way to get around Mastermind and hit him for at least 2 damage. I personally wouldn't put BT on this figure. If I were to use him, it would be in a Past team with a couple Blackhawks backing him up.
Megan Fox - 9/10 ... Really, all you have to say about this figure is that she's the cheapest front-loaded enhancement figure in the game. I think we'll see her used a lot in Modern Age format tournaments, taking the place of feats to round out a team.
I think Worldbreaker is a pretty cool guy. He breaks worlds and doesn't afraid of anything.
Now that we've seen the dials for the Jonah Hex Battle Pack, and for completeness sake, lets rank the figures. Plus it gives me something to do while waiting for Watchmen Previews.
For those of you, not in the know, this is a thread where myself and others rank the figures in the upcoming set on a number of variables. We rank the figures on a scale of 1 to 10.
Here are the variables that I rank on:
1) Character Selection
2) Sculpt
3) Playability
4) Comic (or Movie) Accuracy
5) (in the case of a remake) How do they stack up to what came before
My bad.
I was thinking of Amadeus Cho, who is 11 points, so I wouldn't have any other pogs to team him with in the modern-age setting.
No difference really. Unless I needed her for a theme I still think Cho is a better choice if I have 15 points to spend.
But hey, if everyone thinks spending 15 points to set Lilah in front of Dr. Strange is the greatest thing since sliced bread that's their call.
Sounds boring to me, though.
Frankly, I think all but JH are a complete waste of plastic. You want cheap enhancement? Run a GC detective. Yes, it's a few points more, but for those points you get something that isn't just a potted plant that you can hit with an average roll of 3-4. If I see Lilah on an opposing team, I'll thank my opponent for the free points.
I don't get why everyone is so head over hills in love with that Lila figure...she is 3 clicks deep one EE and she is worthless unless you push her and even then the attack is worthless that figure is a -1 .
Do I like them as the characters they represent? No. I couldn't care less about Jonah and the gang.
But as mods they will be quite useful for bit players who should be 3-d. For that reason alone I will buy it. Also the Lilah sculpt looks really good (depending on the scale) and Turnbull ain't shabby either.
I love the idea of Turnbull being a Lex Luthor (in his office). Rep for that idea. Lilah, I'm leaning towards maybe a Dr. Kavita Rao...
Visible Dials and Pushing Damage need to be optional. This is the way.
so what chases do you guys have? i currently have 12. with two doubles and one in the mail. ( does bat sentery and ult. giant man count?) because i have them too. but the craziest one i got was the kc superman from crisis. guy working my local shop said he knew how to find the superman. grabbed 2 boosters and in the first try pulled him. and the best part he sold it to me for $10!

Reason: ment to put this as a different thread sorry! this is why working 11 hours then going on hcrealms isnt the best idea.
If they'd done a Jonah that was on the horse with the chaingun, with a beefier dial, yea I'd have gone for this
As things stand I'll skip this and try to find CD Jonah instead, not a matter of the dials for me - completely the sculpt.
The problem with sets like these is they seem to make the characters too weak and with vanilla dials and meh sculpts. The licence may not be great, but the character has fans, good ones, and they'd be interested if the dials and sculpts were better.
What's might happen is, few retailers will stock it, realizing it's terribad, the movie did poorly, and it'll wind up rare, so the prices will get out of control with it, despite how unplayable the figures are. Or the alternative is, it sits on shelves till it hits $2 a package, and even then nobody will buy it, so it'll wind up in a landfill ala Atari ET.
I don't get this kinda view on Lilah. She's a cheap enhancer, nothing more. She's worth her points too, since you don't have to push her to get enhancement (like you would a con artist to get perplex). If you stick her next to a high point ranged attacker (or several), then who cares if an energy explosion kills her enhancement? Your opponent just wasted a chance to hit your big gun for more damage in order to hit a 15 point piece.
Because for only 12 more points I can use a GC Detective which is INFINITELY more playable with much better stats and a useful team ability. Also, enhancement is a LOT more limited than perplex because it requires that the character be adjacent and can only be used to modify damage. Granted, one could affect multiple characters at once with it. However, I still contend that it's a waste of points. I'd get more out of a 15-point feat card.
