It is not supposed to be Modern only. I was going to mention that in the original but didn't know how to phrase it, as it is a bit tougher with Golden Age because although I don't expect someone to say Victor Creed but Calypso Ezili is as tough to come by for some of us. In fact I've been playing since Xplosion Era (maybe a tad before) and never got a hold of a Multiple Man from Sinister. So I just want people to use their discretion is all, so I figured it was best to simply not mention it either way.

If my person doesn't have that, a Modern figure I recommend is Incredible Hulk #10 Punisher. (Especially if you have #11 and #23 to swap into.)

I think figures like Noh Varr, Peanut Cap, LE Cable, Domino, Manschester Black and such would disagree.

Maybe, its how people look at it. I myself love Peanut Cap but sadly, duo base does hurt the fact that he is easier to target since he has 2 bases. That doubles the chances of attacking him since you are open to more windows of opportunity. With the rest, they are good but not enough to change the current meta game.

I think the purpose of this thread is to challenge that exact line of thinking. Who are the figures that people overlook and think are not worth their salt. I suggested Cable for 2 reasons. First, I think he is great and brings something not a lot of figures bring (high damaged range attacks from stealth). Second, I can never seem to find teams I like to use him on and when I do use him, he gets mostly ignored and I don't actually get to put him through his paces. I think I got onto his HSS clicks once.

Anyway, I am looking forward to using Omega Prime Sentinel in a game later today. Have a whole 600 pt sentinel team lined up and ready to go.

My biggest trouble with Cable is Noh-Varr. They fill essentially the same role and I know I can win with Noh Varr.

Maxwell Lord, eh? Only Superman figures I have are Sunboy & Manchester Black. I'll see about borrowing one as he looks to play similar to one of my favorite CD figs, Dr. Psycho. Then again I really like Cassandra Nova as well. This will be a fun team.

Ok, so I used Maxwell Lord last night. 400pts Silver Age. Was glad to see he has the Ruler keyword as I got to bust out Miek once again, and Miek is an awesome figure.

Game 1: Revenge was mine, lol. Played against the same Dual Superman, Nightcrawler & Gamma Bomb team. Was able to select the outside Helicarrier with the plane as I thought it gave me the best chance to one-shot Nightcrawler.

Miek picked up the Hammer, didn't even want to try with Namor as I wanted two big bruisers instead of one.

Nightcrawler hit his SC when Namor came in, but missed both SC & Senses when Miek attacked. My opponent followed up with both Superman HSS in for the attack. Neither one had LOF to him so the first one had to deal with Inv, hits Namor for 2 after reduction...then HSS out of the radius of Gamma Bomb. A nice OW to Inv and the 2nd Supes misses. Though he did OW my Indom.

I have to push as I need to finish off Nightcrawler, so I take the damage on Namor to free up Miek. Who then, thanks to his new Wings is able to push on a Charge to the second Supes. My opponent misses Imp and knocks him for 3, luckily still on his HSS.

This whole time I had been moving Mera & Maxwell up using Maxwell's ability to not be seen as protection from the Supermen. Plus Namor and Hammer Miek posed a bigger threat. I TK'd Maxwell within four of the Violet Lantern and MC'd both the Supes. The 1st Supes I ran towards the Gamma Bomb and followed with the 2nd one to attack and thanks to the +1 Dam from the Lantern I was able knock him past his Perplex but not to his HSS. Leaving both of the Supes next to the Gamma Bomb. I OW the 1st Supes Inv.

Mind that it is now the 5th round...so the start of his 5th turn the Gamma Bomb goes off. Bye bye Sups and the other Supes is sitting on his Regen with a token. He pushed to heal for 1 and I cleared to base then attack him the next 2 turns.

Maxwell died due to the Gamma Bomb, but did just as I expected him too.

Game 2: Played against a nifty Horseman team.

This wasn't much of a game, my opponent crit missed 4 times with Archangel and didn't hit but once with Hulk against Namor, which just put him on his 12AV with Flurry. Wolverine did manage to KO Mera, but missed all his attacks on Miek...which was bad as Miek had picked up the Hammer for a 2nd time this night.

Maxwell was able to MC Archangel into position to be KO'd by Miek though.

Being that was more due to horrible rolls by my opponent there's no need to touch expand. She promised next time to bring the pain.

Game 3: Not sure why he played him, but Nemesis at 400pts was a surprise. For this I chose to lose the turret in lieu of the Meteorite to better get that first attack off. I also selected the Arkham map for the many wall I needed to block LOF.

Took me five turns of positioning so he couldn't get the first attack. Though Miek looks to be challenging Noh Varr as he picked up the hammer a third time, which made the following that much easier.

Namor made the first attack with the Meteorite and got a +2 to his damage, followed by another 2 from his second attack. One OW later from Miek and Nemesis was no more.

Maxwell did here what was expected, pushed early to get his OW and used it when needed.

Overall he preformed just as I figured, which is along the lines of the various Prof X figs, Cassandra Nova, Dr. Psycho and Doctor Destiny. Though had I lost the last 2 games I would've been satisfied with just demolishing the Supes Nightcrawler team.

Lucy can carry Parasite into position to outwit D or another useful combat power like PC. Then Supergirl swings in with a heavy. Simple, but effective.

Composite Superman can TK Parasite into position to outwit a Def power on someone with range and then blast them, or just charge in instead. ManWolf can subsequently be TKed into the fray for some Charge - B/C/F action.

Recommended figure will be...SM027 Parasite. I think he's exponentially better than the JL version, but still has some kinks. I'd be interested to hear this one.
