You realize that the first thing he did when he got the Infinity Gauntlet was kil half of the universe for Death right? He's a stone cold killer. That's just part of who Thanos is.
Causing half of the universe to just not exist is a comic book villainy type of thing. Butchering his offspring is more of a real world type of deal. They have made him more like a human instead of this all powerful cosmic being.

But his coveting of Death is also a "human" sentiment, isn't it?
I personally think the story is quite enjoyable, and does well to show why Thanos is capable of doing what he did with the Gauntlet.
I do think they could have put a bit more into it though than Thanos simply being born evil, or with some evil essence. Unless his Mother was psycho, and it shows how it's those around him who created the monster he becomes. An argument of whether one's environment can override what one is predisposed to. Meh.
Verbal Kint: "The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist".

Reading the Infinity Gauntlet, it gets confusing. His original intent was to wipe out half of the universes living beings. It's left unclear if he killed them or simply made them vanish into nothingness.
So far in "Thanos Rising", they are showing his early life and how he is evolving from what he was into what he's known as. A mass murderer.
And remember, his earlier attempts at mass murder also involved blowing away entire stars. That's not a friendly type of guy.
I think the reason why he kills is the, for lack of a better term, draw of Thanos. He is searching for something and it appears to be love from Death. But that is nothing new, Thanos has always tried to seek the approval of Death and her love. I'm really on the fence with this series. Thanos has been my favorite villain Since IG, and I started out not liking #1, but with each issue I've become more interested in the journey Aaron is sharing.
Thanos is a major whack job....hahahahaha.....his elevator don't go all the way to the top. Dragging dead chicks to his bedroom then crying over them. What a nut.
Duh....like we did not know she was Death.
Father is in total denial......dang my Dad would blame me for the Sun coming up. Thanos old man doesn't even believe his son is a mass killer.
Awww ain't it sweet Thanos is going home after all of these years.
Still enjoying this story.
And still I am waiting for a new Desaad figure.....where is the Desaad love?
