I also prefer to live in the past...before there were characters like "Doop".
Psylocke died?
Chuck is walking again? (it won't last, it never does.)
Juggernaut is a hero? What about Black Tom?
A star for a brain? This is a mutation?
Husk and Chamber are back? (cool.)
Sounds like the title is getting crowded.
Load up on Thugs...
Bring your friends.
It's fun to lose, and to pretend.
I think it will be cool when he loses the use of his legs again. I can picture Magneto coming back from the attack on Genosha madder than ever getting beaten and right before he escapes saying to Charles something like " by the way Charles, I liked you better when you couldn't walk" and putting some rebar or something through his spine.
Originally posted by Evil Kneebler Chamber and Husk are original members of the Generation X (Next?) team who were teen students taught by Banshee and the White Queen. They were the replacement for the New Mutants for a while. Also consisted of Mondo, Jubilee, Skin, Monet (others?)
Husk's real name is Paige Guthrie, the little sister of Sam Guthrie (Cannonball).
Chamber has some telepathic powers (probably due to the fact that he has no MOUTH!) That energy leaking from his upper chest/lower jaw is some form of his psychic energy which he can use to blow stuff up. Been a while since I've seen him do it though. At least that's what I remember, now I'm doubting myself. Aahh, fear and self-loathing! I'm going to hide in the corner now.
Hope that helps.
Oh, I too have really liked the Juggernaut joing the X-Men. How many times can they do "The Juggernaut comes to town" storyline before it gets lame? (Answer: Depends on whose town it is) This way, we actually get to explore the character some more.
Just to expand:
The title was indeed Generation X(Generation NeXt was it's AoA title). Other characters you forgot were Synch(my fave character in the title), and Penance, who turned out to be the real Monet. Long, stupid story there....
The 'fire' coming from Chamber is indeed some kind of Psychic Plasma stuff. (Bear with me here, I havent read the comic in like 7 years, and I'm working from memory.) When his mutant powers activated for the first time, it actuall blew a hole in his chest and the lower part of his face. The Psychic Plasma(I think that is what it's called) also heeps him alive, as he has no mouth to eat with(along with various organs IIRC). Also, I think he is supposed to be extreemly powerful, but a large part of his power is used to just keep him alive.
I dunno....maybe Xorn can heal him and he would be all powerful....or something else stupid......
Xorn hasn't gotten around to fixing Scott's brain damage that prevents him from controlling the flow of his blast, so I doubt Jono's high on the "Get fixed by Xorn" list.
That was an Xavier/Nova only thing, and Morrison wouldn't overuse it.
I've heard Jono's 'fire' called, Psychokinetic, and Psionic energy. His best story moments were versus the UBER-Omega Red, and versus the X-Cutioner. Jono doesn't need to breath, and the psychokinetic energy is what allows him the limited telepathic abilities.
For in depth information I advise you all to check out uncannyxmen.net, their character information section is without rival.
And what's with the Doop-hate? Have you honestly been given a reason to dislike a mascot character? At least he's not as annoying as Warlock.
Ok, i know this is gonna sound stupid, but i have always wondered "What is Husk's power?" I know she can "shed" her skin or whatever, but what possible good does that do her?
Psylocke died? - Yes, people die. Adds drama
Chuck is walking again? (it won't last, it never does.) - Its lasted almost 2 years now.
Juggernaut is a hero? What about Black Tom? - Black Tom turned on Juggernaut and left him to die
A star for a brain? This is a mutation? - What, because it doesn't turn him into an instant warrior its not a good mutation? Whats wrong with doing something new?
"Magneto coming back from the attack on Genosha" - He won't back for a while. Marvels new policy (and they seem to be sticking with it) is that once a character is dead, they are dead. No coming back.
Theres only one Return, and it ain't of the King, its of the Jedi.
I read a recent X-Men comic and Xorn is a character with a rediculous premise that still ends up coming off fairly well imo the sad part is the rest of the team had thoer personalities erased and were turned into a MAD comics parody of Image
Yes X-Men IS stupid now no matter what you are told or how much you want to belive things are better than they have ever been unless you are really willing to accept that Cyclops secondary mutation was turning into an #$%-hole acting like Jerry Springer style trailor trash
Hey EVIL CAP , just because you don't like something dosn't automaticaly make it stupid. I fully enjoy the current story now. And if you can't express you opinion in a manor that dosen't attack other people or try to make them sound like their an idiot because they don't agree with you I would prefer if you didn't post in any of my threads any more.

Why you hittin' yourself, Boomerang?! Huh?! Why you hittin' yourself?!
-Spiderman
Psylockeslover, Scott's current problem with being unable to fire his optic blast is indded probably a more psychological issue similar to the one Phat from X-StatiX experienced not too long ago.
What I was actually referring to is the fact that Scott's power doesn't actually naturally need the visor to control flow or intesity. Scott should be abl;e to control those aspects of his power, but when he escaped the airplane crash that apparently killed his parents (I know about Corsair so don't bother correcting me) during the fall his head was struck, causing brain damage that rendered him incapable of controlling his powers as he was supposed to.
As for saying everything is angsty, I really don't agree here. Emma is acting as crude and mean-spirited as she did before being slightly watered-down in Generation X. Scott and Jean were developing a rift in their relationship from before Morrison took to the title, ever since Apocalypse had been in Scott. Wolverine isn't acting out of character, hard to do that anyway considering the many ways he's portrayed. Beast is acting as intelligent and as practical joker-ish as ever, with the exception he is a bit down-trodden by his secondary mutation (Which actually happened in X-Treme X-Men, not New X-Men). Professor is in higher spirits than usual despite a little self-questioning.
Other than those guys, most of the cast is new anyway, from the many students, to Xorn and Dust.
Angst and gritted teath are from Liefeild's New Mutants, not New X-Men.
"Cyclops secondary mutation was turning into an #$%-hole acting like Jerry Springer style trailor trash"
Dude, Morrison is just finally writing these characters like real people. In a real marriage there are problems, people get bored, things come up that put strains on the relationship. When that happens people start look else were (a lot of the time without knowing it). Emma wanted Cyclops, she saw what was happening and took advantage. Cyclops acted lost most men would (remember he never "really" touched her). Even Jean made somewhat of a pass at Wolverine in one the issues. Morrison has made them real people, not just superpowers.
Theres only one Return, and it ain't of the King, its of the Jedi.
