I personally have had a bad run in with Magic players, and while I don't play the game, in fact I like it, I just don't play, I don't go bad-mouthing the players. But like you said King25, if you don't like it, leave it at that.

I have had many yu-gi-ho players badmauthing pokemon. I just hate they can't leave it alone.

I am a hardcore yugioh and magic player. I was a multi tournament champ in pokemon. I have retired my Charizard Blastoise and Venasaur to protectors and my dresser. The game just lost popularity when yugioh came out. I guess it would eventually happen though.

I lost intrest in pokemon when there was no challenge in playing the people near me. Most people stopped showing up because I wiped the floor with them. I also found games with more strategy, or so I thought. So by now, I have played pokemon, magic, warlord, L5R, and I think I have finally settled down with AD&D, Mage Knight, and Mech Warrior.

Oh, BTW, If anyone wants to get a lot of old, but good pokemon cards, PM me. I will sell, or trade for MK or MW

To me Pokemon is still cool. You should play what you like no matter how old you are and not be ashamed. I am a little mad at some ppl who posted though things like that's what you get for playing Yu-Gi-Oh and other rude blows to Yu-Gi-Oh. You must not like 'cuz you don't play it or you just plain suck at it. I like pokemon to though it's a great game the cards and the video games. pokemon was the card game at first because it almost no competition. Now they have to compete with games that ake you think and hold your interest because they are games that even adults love to play and they don't feel ashamed. A lot of ppl think pokemon is for children but it's not. They'd lose revenue on the pokemon games if they added any blood or anything gorey. I'm not the hugest player of Pokemon.Although I do own a ton of cards I never have the time. To go to tourneys or anything and i love Yu-Gi-Oh. I run a clash of an Exodia and Destiny Board deck that is quite effective. The only reason that Pokemon is considered uncool is because a lot of ppl are incrediably shallow. A lot of ppl today (more around the years of 13-18) consider an imagination the thing of a child. But in reality it grows as we get older and we should use it. Not curse it and think that ppl at those ages that do use it are childs and completely immature. I love Pokemon and I have a baby brother and since I'm going to college in a few years I spend as much time with him as possible. So as you can imagine toys have to come to life and so I have to use my head and think of ways little kids like to play. That doesn't embarass me and anyone who thinks anything of it is stupid. In my opinion Pokemon is still cool.

Ok, this is a very simple topic.

Is pokemon still cool? Nope. Is Yu Gi Oh cool? Nope. Is Magic Cool? Nope. If you ask the majority of people out there, anyone who plays TCGs or CCGs are losers. So none of us here are " cool " for playing these games. Its that simple.

As for Yu Gi Oh as a game. It really is pretty pathetic actually. Ive played over 20 different TCGs myself, and Yu Gi Oh is simply put one of the least entertaining and least strategic. The best game for strategy and overall game play is Magi Nation. Magic has game play which gets stale really quick for me, as your hand plays itself for you. I still like it as it has to do with a cool subject, being wizards,d ragons and other Dungeons and Dragons like topics.

As for those who say Pokemon isnt strategic at all. Ive played in hundreds of tournements, including Super Trainer Showdowns, Qualifiers, Gym Challenges, Stadium Challenges, the Professor Championship ( 15 and older championship division ) and the World Championships. Try and tell me that it has no strategy. Anyone who plays or doesnt play the game. If you want toc hallenge me on this issue, ill give you a month to learn the game. As you come from a game you feel is " strategically superior " you should have no problem wiping the floor with some loser pokemon player,r ight?

Yu Gi Oh will lose steam. It already has. The company support to it is weak. The game play is simple minded and its going through the whole FAD stage. Pokemon went through it, and as a dedicated player, that stage of the gaem really sucked. Too many randoms playing and it was so annoying to deal with the little kids. AT out league, for Yu Gi Oh we get maybe 6 players over the age of 10. Thats all. Out of around 40+ players. That and we only have about 8 that go each week. The others come once and rotate out. That is NOT a sign of solid game support. The game is being handled horribly, and it wont last as long as Pokemon did in its fad stage in my opinion, but I guess thats a good thing. Yu Gi Oh isnt the WORST game ever ( Ultimate Combat anyone? :P ) but its far from even a GOOD game in my opinion. Magic is going to last a long time. It is not an offensive game in the least ( its stuck up players on the other hand...yeah, their the offensive ones ) and it has amazing prize support to keep it going for a long long time. Until Yu Gi Oh can establish that, its hopeless for it. The fad aspect will die, and it will be laughed at just like Pokemon is. Without a solid tournement structure, the game will hit rock bottom fast as the players switch to either the newest fad, or a game where you can win good prizes. Otherwise, as your no long " Popular " for playing the game, why play? Yu Gi Oh wont last that long, and than I will finally be able to walk throughout league without stepping on toddlers anymore.

Wow!!!! you didn't come right out and say it but you just bashed all of us pretty hard. I don't know how old you are but that does not give you the right to say rude things about us. For that alone it is you who is the idiot. I may only be 14. But I know a lot for my age. Maybe you and I see things differently, I don't know, but what you just said is false in my eyes. I've played most of the games here at CCGRealms and of all of them Yu-Gi-Oh is by far the best. To me Fads are just stupid creations of extremely SHALLOW ppl. They are just dumb. The reason Pokemon can't keep up is because nothing has changed with gameplay. With Yu-Gi-Oh they just made the addition of DDM (Dungeon Dice Monsters). I may not be THE BEST player of TCG's and CCG's but I am good at finding games that imply strategy a lot and Pokemon is low ranked on my scale but it's still really fun. In my opinion Yu-Gi-Oh rocks and that's currently the only TCG I play. Although I do want to start playing Pokemon again. On another point how stragetic a CCG is depends on what kind of deck you make. A lot of ppl just like making beatdowns and then leave the game because they don't want to try and make anything more complicated. I run an odd Yu-Gi-Oh deck. The only deck that can beat it every time is a hand destruction deck. Also our card games would be a lot better for some of our games if we had all the cards that Japan has. Like in Yu-Gi-Oh we don't have an English BEUD and that sucks. Things like that are what repel a lot of ppl because we don't get any of the good cards. I can not tolerate what you said.
