Arrrgh -- conflicting feelings -- another ICE, yet one with and 11-attack and TSM. Hmmm, definately going to have to see how this piece fits into the set. Will we see all the mechs -- ICE and real mechs with TSM in this set?

Nice looking sculpt though for whats worth.
CBT-wise? IIRC, ICE engines don't automatically come with heat sinks, as compared to the 10 HS/DHS built into a fusion engine. They thus have more problems taking care of excess heat.
Well, I think this is better than getting another industrial mech. At least it's something actually built for combat and not a John Deere with a rocket strapped to the side. Stat wise they sound like they should be good units. But most of me is still disgusted that these hybrid-ICE abominations have better stats than most of the real battlemechs.

Last I checked, internal combustion engines generated quite a bit of heat, actually. Enough so that all cars seem to come with heat sinks called radiators to dissipate said heat to prevent the engine from overheating...
Gamewise reason - if you can accept an ICE 'Mech with a heat dial, then you should be able to accept an ICE 'Mech with TSM on said heat dial. Given that they have to run hot to get these bonuses, I'm not terribly worried. After all, if they want to get themselves closer to shutdown, it's fine by me...
As for making your military grade battlemechs useless - no ICE 'Mech has the length of dial or the stability of stats that the Military Grade Battlemechs do. Gamewise, this thing _is_ a battlemech, anyways. Look at it this way - if they hadn't put the smoke stacks on the thing, and hadn't labelled it as having an internal combustion engine, would you be upset or happy to see this 'Mech?
Of course, as with all sneak previews, we haven't seen the full stats on this unit yet, so it's a bit early to pronounce this thing as good or bad anyways. After all, for all we know, its attack drops to an 8 on the second click... (I doubt it, myself, but it is possible).
cool Mech, appearance and all, but gawd, how many of these KILLER units do we have to have? Compare that attack, Defense, etc, and you would think that ALL light Mechs are CLAN Invasion Era CLAN ASSAULT Mechs! I do notice that the Wolves did not get one. I guess that means now we get to fight against ANOTHER pet Faction? Hmm....Donars, The Charge Monkey, perfect heat dials, sounds like typical SC, BR, or DF stuff to me. Come on WK, there are factions besides SC, BR, and DF, are there not?
Maniac stole my thoughts. Fusion engines are expensive and hard to make, but these things would be a dime a dozen. I guess wiz kids ran out of ways to bastardized backhoes and were forced to think of *gasp* Battlemechs!
Jenskot By CBT standers if I remember correctly ICE Mechs work just like Tanks in that they generate no waste heat. Heck lets not even go into the weight of that engine its carring around for the speed they gave those things since all ice engines are twice as heavy as a comparable weight fusion engine.
Well since I prefer Ranged combat over what very well may be the start of MageKnight Year 3133. I would say if this thing had been a light battlemech I would have disliked in anywho.

We can only hope. You could have attack values of 8 and still be a more playable faction than the Highlanders. I must sound like someone's opinionated grandfather when I go on like this.
guys, look at it this way, technology and production facilities are rarer now.
The game was trying to go back and recreate the feel from preclan days.
This is great. Wizkids keeps the feeling 'dark age', keeps factions from being technical powerhouses, and yet shows progression. I mean, since there are bound to be lots of car/farm tool factories, they can shift over to producing industrial battlemechs very easy.
A real WW2 feel. As the war heats up, Ford starts cranking out shermans to help the boys on the frontlines.
I love it, we get the battlemechs we want, and still put it in the dark age feel, without the shame of driving a backhoe to battle.
While, I am disturbed that the Bannson's get another charge intensive mech, I am comforted by the fact that it will have a very short lifespan much like all the other Bannson Ice mechs.
