I'm pretty sure the red mech on the back of the box is a Griffin. Looking at my C.Schiller from the top down and it looks identical, from the shoulder shield things to the jump jets on the back.
Is it just me or does it seem that WK is actually grasping the concept of Omni-technology... the GyrFalcon LE has big guns on the side... the GyrFalcon on the front of the box looks like it has an arm and a big gun... The GyrFalcon on the back of the box looks like it has missile launchers for arms...
I am really looking forward to this set. Jade Falcons has always been one of favorite Clans to play in Classic Battletech. I also enjoyed the CBT fiction related to them.
I am not happy about set retirement but do understand the business side of the industry. I feel if they do things right they might even be able to strengthen the game. So I have gone into wait and see mode, hoping for he best.
Purity: The Jade Falcons would never honestly accept assistance from outside units - is it possible that they may not be able to play with anything short of a faction-pure army? Maybe mercs, but I doubt it. It would be fitting for the term used.
Honor: Once a Jade Falcon unit has targetted and fired upon an enemy unit, no other Falcon can target that unit unless fired upon by it? This would be in line with the rules of engagement that Clans follow.
Perfection: Honestly, no idea - but if I had to guess, I'd say it's possible that Jade Falcon units may not take damage from a critical miss...? This might help balance out the faction abilities if the other two guesses are correct... Another possibility would be that any Jade Falcon 'Mech automatically gets a carrying-capacity of 1, allowing Jade Falcon infantry (should probably be restricted only to Battle Armor, though, if this is right) to 'Mount' the 'Mech and be carried by it.
As for other things I'm noticing... look at the side of the booster in this image: http://69.93.35.18/photo/1/showphoto...at=1288&page=1 It looks to me like we have a very, VERY slight peek at the side of the pack - it looks to me like it MIGHT, note: MIGHT, be a protomech? The figure just looks too strange to be a 'Mech, and it looks like it could be a single unit on an infantry-sized base...? Seems to remind me of the Gorgon. I don't know, for sure... not enough detail. It's either a proto, or perhaps a really freakish Hunchback IIC :p
On a side note - the logo on the booster... is this reminding anyone of the Star Trek Nemesis logo? The one shown in the previews for the movie? It might just be me, and I know it's just the heat sink array on the Gyrfalcon, but it really seems to bear a strong resemblance.
Aside from that - good rendering work on the Gyrfalcon for the booster box-art. :)
I am excited for the new set. I'm still mad about the retirement, but WizKids is like my high school girlfriend... mean but hot. Hard to ignore for too long!
