Diane Jameson with 5 damage with Pulse and a 23 defense against ranged.. THat is sweet. Now since the damage reduces ballstic by one that means the Ammo explosion does no damage.
Arnis could charge into the rear arc no problem. Not only would an arnis army have considerably more support to tie up the support of the Atlas or Kodiak army, but his movement is such that even on the best click, the atlas or kodiak isn't running away from a charge.
If the Geoff gets a bright idea to shoot at Arnis, he's just going to be gaining a counter or a heat click for it. Plus, against ranged attack, that's a 23 defense on Arnis. Not the best defense to be attempting an attack against.
Jeebus... Stefani Ehli would be near impossible to hit from range... I wish I had her.

For one point more I could swap Dagger for A. Kirosawa if I really wanted to get a better close combatant (that I have, no Arnis for me).
Unfortunately no. I only collect Stormhammer and Bannson's Raiders, but just started up with Liao. Managed to pull A. Kirosawa in the qualifier, figured I might use it before trading. The only unique mechs from BR and SH I'm missing are Stefani Ehli, Bill Maignlov, Tamara Duke, Porfira Navas, and the LE SH Uller.
Now, as someone said earlier, would your ammo explosions be one less? I don't think so, as I thought it was Ballistic attacks. Can we get a verification on this?

The way it's worded, no. They specifically state ballistic damage which indicates damage dealt, not printed damage.
This will be an interesting scenario. With the 600pt build total and now 4 actions per turn I'm sure you will see a lot of big mechs on the field and a lot less arty. I'm sure you'll see a lot of SC Mechs with 16inch pulse attacks out there like the Shockwave and some of the uniques. I like what was said about the Gnome BA and relflective armor because I'm sure a lot of people will be running energy mechs and think they have the rules beat, but I am actually thinking of running the DF DI Schmitt drop in this one because it has relfective and IT to help hit your target for 4 AP. Tank dropping a Joust tank with Pulse would not be a bad idea either.
Here is my first idea for a SS army for this week:
DF DiSchmitt 94pts
DF Maxium 31pts
DF Raiden BA x3 60pts
SS Gnome BA x3 57pts
SS Kage BA x3 54pts
SS Ji100 Recovery Vehicle 21pts
That is just a starting idea for myself. From there I would work on fining two smaller mechs to run, one for support and one for attacking. I leaning towards the DF Mjonir for VC3 and a good attack value and energy, but i'm not sure what SS Mech I would run to fill out the rest of my 200pts of SS, maybe just add a SS J37 and swap out the DF Raider BA for some more SS Gnomes. Then I could run the DF Forerstry Mech and the DF Mjonir. My army still needs some work.
Gonna have to bring alot of it, Hotaru. at -1 to all ballistic damage, the tickling will help Bekker more than hurt him, unless you bring like eight pieces and the command units neccesary to use them. and the point of this is that Arnis does need that +2 rear arc bonus on Bekker. Or you'll need to get Bekker past his sweet spot
