Wow I foresee the new use for SM.. Only wand attacks can be made this turn in an all-mage army that could be evil...and if you run into an MI just blast it with the 2 damage hehehe they fixed SM somewhat....or at least make people think about the other options on the multiple abilities on some of the Relics. Just a thought....
But I think that Sorcery is gonna blow all other MK sets away with sheer coolness. I mean come on Spells and spell books... Fantasy mages in books and stuff have always been major bad ***es and now we can have a more involved mage instead of....Anunub uses mage blast to smite your monkey..... now its Joseppy the Wise casts the almighty spell of Arc Lightning on your pityful mage clan member!

I don't have a good answer to this. I think it depends upon the individual and how deeply they are involved in gaming and MK.
However, from a personal standpoint I only play about 2 - 3 tourneys per month now (in a good month). For this reason I don't get the opportunity to try out and get to know all the nuances of the figures, SA's, relics, etc as well as I did with 1.0. For this reason I would like to see more time between releases.
I'm sure there are others that play 2-3 times per week and would love to see a release every couple of months. Again a personal decision.
The one thing that will be interesting is to see how this helps or hurts the bottomline. I own a large number of Topps shares and I would love to see their stock price go up because MK is literally printing money. That hasn't happened yet.
I have to agree with my clanmate here, I do think some of the stuff looks cool, but I'm just a little afraid of chance this quickly..
I wouldn't be suprised however if golems actually do get a boost in this set. This whole spell book thing feels a lot like warmachine, and if they really are trying to be more like WM, some spells are really going to boost golem damage type figures, which would be pretty awesome for both atlantis and the BPRev's because tezla knows these former two main factions are now third class citizens in the new mk world(did anyone else notice that Dark Crusaders and Elemental Freeholds are definitely going to be the main two factions after the sorcery comes out? I'm not sure I'm completely cool with that...).

Bottomline, I'm not commenting on the mechanics, but the speed of the releases. Personally, I would be comfortable with 1 every year, or possibly 2 every 3 years.

I was just being light hearted. Wasn't trying to insinuate anything, sorry. Just saying my opinions, rationalizations, etc often don't make sense or don't apply to the situation. :D
Hmmm, 1 set a year wouldn't do it for me. I could see 2 a year (that's only 1 month more between releases), but 1 a year would be too slow I think financially. People would loose interest, I'd think. Plus, they'd have to be HUGE sets then. You do make good points as to why fewer releases would be good, though. I suppose you don't have much free time to play casually and test out strategies? I don't get to play a lot, either, so right now I'm mostly collecting (and even that I don't get to do much of). I don't play competitively, A because I don't like being competitive, and B because I don't think I'd be any good, and would just have a miserable time, because I don't have enough figures to be competitive, and I don't have money to get more. :( Hmmm... my post took an odd turn. :D

That's one heck of a sentence you have there. :D
Anyway, I bet you're right, I expect that many AE and BPR figs will be golems, and that a fair number of AE spells (and maybe some neutral spells) will be golem helpers. It just makes sense.
When 2.0 was released they said they were slowing down the release schedule to 2 a year. This year's releases will be DR and Sorcery. No others will be released this year. I do understand that 2.0 falls in the year time frame technically but it was part of the existing release schedule.. or so it was explained to me.
I'm fairly certain that with retirement they'll stick to 2 a year.
Yes, form construct is risky; best to use the construct in defense of its maker. Arc Lightning is also very nice, as is Arcane Sight. Varatrix will always need a Defense-enhancing relic on hand once Sorcery is out. :)
Best figure released so far to have for a form construct to protect your sorcerer: Possessed Draconum! Man, my opponents hate seeing that guy when I have to pay full price for him, much less saving 14 points!
Of course the next question is: does he get a click for cursed for being constructed?! Also, it would make sense that magic immune figures should not be able to be form constructed...oh the headaches we'll have!
Are there going to be spells that deal damage without attack rolls? Because, um, the game really has way more of that than it ever needed.
At least Counterspelling is majorly stacked toward the counterer! Sure, you might not be able to stop a spell from Anunub or Vithzerai, but sorcerers without attack values higher than 10 are probably gonna find themselves getting schooled by * Blood Shamans.

I think you are reading this backwards.
Quote
The casting sorcerer rolls two six-sided dice and adds its unmodified attack value (including attack bonus, if any) to the result. The countering sorcerer rolls one six-sided die and adds its unmodified attack value (including attack bonus, if any) + 1 to the result. If the countering sorcerer’s result is higher, the target spell fails, and is placed face down on top of the spell stack.
So, the casting sorcerer gets an additional d6 to add to it's total. Countering isn't going to be common without help (although attempts might be) except from high attack value figures (such as Vithzerai). This might mean that taking a cheap wand figure (such as Priest Syndin, perhaps) might not be a great deal if their attack is too low.
That Symbol on Form Construct looks like it could be a Solonavi subfaction symbol. Also, this game looks awesome, now i just cant wait for it to come out.
LOL, and why is the Spell Element for "Arcane Sight" a Solonavi Striker bracelet!?
