Now I just wonder what the stackers are...I heard a rumor they were going to be Batman and Superman, but I don't know if that's true. It would be pretty sweet though...
So, what happened to the t-shirts with team logos? Green Lantern and Avengers (OK, mostly Green Lantern) were the coolest T-Shirts because they put the team logo on the front (they put it on the front of the JLA shirt too, but it was orange... and Aquaman...). Then X-Men came along and they didn't put the X on the front? Does that make any sense, to anyone? ANYONE? I don't know what logo they could have put on the Infinite Crisis shirt, but anything is better than the boring VS emblem...
When the next Batman set comes out I better get the bat symbol on a t-shirt or I'm breaking legs.
(By breaking legs I obviously mean getting on the realms and #####ing a lot).

The primary reason is that these are Vs. t-shirts, not X-Men or Batman t-shirts. If you want t-shirts with team logos, then there are a number of companies that can help you out. Don't get me wrong - I wear the Green Lantern shirt all the time. But if I'm spending money for Vs. shirts, then I need to put the logo front and center.
I'm pretty happy with the last two t-shirts. X-Men had Wolvie's claw slashes through the logo, and the Infinite Crisis t-shirt has the Vs. System logo "glowing" just like Dr. Fate's ankh on the back. The Galactus shirt is even cooler - IMHO it'll be the best we've done so far.

I really hope there is a Dr. Fate T-Shirt. This set seems to be showing the love for Fate and he's one of my favorite DC characters. (Truth to be told, his stories are usually really boring metaphysical, confusing stuff, but his name and helmet and stuff are JUST TOO COOL! - I wish he was a Marvel character...but I digress.)
He is ... they just call him Dr. Strange instead.
[Although the Dr. Strange stuff in X-Statix Presents: Deadgirl is really funny ...]

Spending more money into the game at the moment when unsure of it's future over here is a bad idea IMO.
And if enough people are of the same opinion it will be a self-fufilling prophesy as everyone stops spending money on the game waiting to see if anyone else will spend money on the game.
Maybe it's the reason for less money being spent by UDE Europe ... they don't want to put up big prizes while the future is unsure ... they want to see how things turn out before putting more money in.
Originally posted by Mephisto Here in my country until JLA we were all just fine (Talking about Sneak Previews) but in X-men we just received 2 shirts and two playmats (something we easily recieve in a Hobby League)...
Just a note:
Lot's of places got a reduced ammount of prize support with the X-Men pre-release.
I know that before the X-Men set ... I could often easily get a full set of the prizes just by placing well in the main event, and maybe winning one of the follow up sneaks.
The X-Men one took me two days [Montreal and Ottawa] and getting lucky on one of the random draws to get a full set of stuff.
I'm guessing it was sort of an equalization ... as our area probably used to get way more prize support than we needed for the Sneak Peaks, with nearly everyone getting stuff ... or just a more clinical approach [only allowing X ammount of prizes per Y number of people ...]
Now 2 of each is extremely low even by those standards ... but there was an overall drop in prize support for X-Men across the board ... likely to get closer to an even distribution.
RE: GDE- shat and rectified within two lines of each other. Brilliant!
Speaking of the present tense of shat, I'm really not a fan of the playmat because the expression of Cpt. Marvel looks very similar to an expression of one who is currently engaged in said 'business'. Look at his lip.
As to UDE europe, I think I've figured out a slight problem.
The best existing game to compare VS to is Magic (even though YuGiOh sells better then all of them), especially when you're engaging the organization of events on a worldwide level. I think the fundamental problem is this:
In Magic, the Flavor establishes the storyline. That makes the flavor the dominant (non play related) characteristic for new sets.
In VS, the STORYLINE establishes the flavor. Because Europe in general doesn't really drive comic book sales, Europe is neglecting the storyline and UDE beleives that because of that they will never have a truly stable market in Europe. VS relies on the comics, and I think they seek to continue that intertwining. Is it a safe business proposition? Yes. Is it kind to the players in Europe? No.
I don't agree with the backboning of VS utilizing the comics. I think the game was designed well enough to need no other reason to play than the game itself.
The key thing to remember is that most players don't care about flavor or storyline. They care about what the cards do. While it's nice to have a secondary collectors market, if UDE didn't care about the game they could just release 'collectors' cards with no rules, no organization...etc.

First, thanks for the quick response. I understand that the shirts are promoting VS, and I was a bit harsh in my statements.
That said, to promote VS one has to wear the shirt and people have to notice it. I've had random strangers mention my Green Lantern shirt, no one pays attention to my other shirts, particularly when I'm wearing a coat. It seems like the X-Men t-shirt in particular was a poor place to stop using the logo. People would have taken notice of the X-Men logo, no one has mentioned the X-Men shirt when I wear it. People have literally shouted at me across a mall when I wear the Green Lantern shirt.
I disagree that the VS logo alone (or in flames, or clawed, or glowing) is the best way to promote the game via the shirt. People just don't care and overlook the VS logo. Maybe if the VS logo was on the front with the team's logo, or something to that effect? Maybe you could superimpose the VS logo on the team's logo? I'm not in sales or marketing, but I know what people's reactions have been...
On a related note, the back of the shirt actually seems less important. People who know the characters (particularly Hal Jordan and Ghost Rider) have mentioned the backs of the shirts, but I've had many more comments on the Green Lantern logo than any other part of any VS shirt, and I think I wear my X-Men, Green Lantern and Marvel Knight shirts equally. I avoid wearing the orange one like the plague and wear my Avengers one less as it's snugger for some reason.
I kinda think the mat is horrible. I'm glad they pulled off the x-men mat with only one person, but that's only because it was phoenix. Having one person on the mat doesnt seem to work in this mat IMHO. plus i was really hoping to see alex luthor on the mat, maybe even with teh omacs in teh background and the brother I satellite in the sky
The shirt is already my favorite yet. By far. If I have to, I'll be willing to trade the deckbox for it at Nova on Saturday if anyone is interested and it plays out that way.
The mat could never ever top Jean's potbelly, we'll have to wait and see how it shines in person.
How in the world are we going to wait four more days???
