Surely I do, if it is in the middle of a Vs. System tournament, or a movie theater, or a classroom. I do it every time.
I also do it whenever someone stands by the side of the public pool and takes a whizz into the water we all have to swim in.

That's the problem. Realms has been nothing but this crap for like the last two weeks. No productive or good conversations, just wwaaa. If I wanted to listen to constant complaining with no intentions to change or do anything about it, I'd just listen to my wife. :)

See, I think I would just have to laugh if somebody had the nads to do that and then not say anything and laugh as people jump into the piss.
What if you are already in the water? A swift right cross to the nuts? A deck chair to the face? If they had the nads to piss near me, they wouldn't have them long.
The funny thing is, I don't think that anyone on the banning thread has said -anything- about quitting. Which pretty much makes your whole point a straw man argument.
If you don't know what a straw man argument is, then educate yourself on debate and you might actually learn that having a discussion about something is quite different than #####ing about it.

Either that or I'd just pull them in the water with me and make sure their mouth was open. But seriously imagine yourself sitting in a lounge chair and some guy just walks up to the pool, drops his drawers and starts pissing into the water. Then pulls up his pants and walks away like nothing happened. That's funny.

Here, the word "quit" is highlighted for you. I didn't do it for the front page thread, and I'm sure it would work for the word "leaving" as well.
Straw men are what we do here, they burn better. Did you expect a message board populated by people who play with superheroes on cardboard to follow official debate rules?
Chad, you know I love you like a brother. I honestly thought that your intense arguments included an "I'm quitting." type of sentiment. That may just be me and my perception, but I would have sworn that you were saying you were fed up and you weren't going to take it anymore.

I want to clarify that there has been some good discussion, and debate whether I agree with it or not is always a good thing.
But people have said that they would quit over ARB, and that is stupid, you are not one of those people so this thread was not directed at you or other people having intelligent debate on the topics at hand.
The bottom line is that I love this game, I'm sure that many people here feel the same way I do. I come to realms to read a ton of different things, strategies, winning deck ideas, jank ideas that have tons of potential or just funny remarks from random realmers.
Latley lots of people have just been screaming about how bad things are, and how bad UDE is and how stagnant the meta is etc, in reality UDO is trying their best to accomodate gamers, enemy has brought a new punch to deckbuilding, and the meta is loaded with tons of new decks. I mean come on a secret society deck just t 8'ed at a 10k.
Things are good, so lets appreciate it and have fun, after all isn't that what games are meant to be...fun
Here's the irony of all this. The people that complain are probably people that actually care more about the game than people that run around with rainbows over their heads.
We wouldn't waste the time to put together coherent arguments about this if we couldn't care less about the game.
Me? Sure, I'm still freakin' pissed that they banned a card that was one of the really fun decks that I play quite often.
But I also think this represents the start of several dangerous precedents that would hurt UDE in the long run. That was basically the point from the start.

Damn. That is just barely too big to fit in my sig.
I always wonder about the lurkers when it comes to the Troll vs. Unicorn conundrum. You know, the masses who actually fuel the payroll but are never heard. Wouldn't they be the deciding factor anyway?

Most people do not doubt that ARB's Synergy with the Fate Artifacts and stuff are pretty bad for the game in the long run. What's the issue is that many feel that banning ARB was way over the line. If you add a simple "non-unique" to ARB you fix it up signifigantly and give FF a pretty good toy. Now issuing errata like this probably isn't the best idea - remembering = not fun - but when you ban a card out of Golden, you are essentially reducing the totaly amount of cards in VS by one. It's like retconning that card out of existance. Never been made. Doesn't exist. In this situation, errata doesn't seem too bad.

Yes, consistent decks have been out there for awhile. Similarly, rush decks have been out there for awhile too. There was also TNB before SqS rush, but I don't really see anyone playing TNB. Do you? Curve Sents is perhaps the most consistent decks I've seen in awhile, yet no one plays it very much in Golden. Why, because it seems like nowadays power > consistency. This is something that always happens as card games get older. EomE is debatably bad because it gets you both. Traditionally, it was either you had power or consistency, but now you can have both. In addition, new cards tend to be better, because they are designed with older cards in mind - in terms of synergy with, and power against - whereas older cards were only designed with each other in mind. This still isn't factoring things like power creep or shock value to help boost sales into the equation.

The thing about running a tool box is that generally the amount of splash damage you will get is quite good. Power Compressor is aimed at stopping Doom decks, but it also ruins any chance Avengers has against New School. It also stops Phoenix Force. Once and awhile your opponent may draw a dead silver bullet and it may cost them the game - lets not forget that at worse the silver bullet is usually an average sized charecter which means it's not that bad on intiative. On the other hand, they may just draw the right one they need and win the game then and there. Hell, lets not forget they can also pitch that bad silver bullet to EomE and get the right one. Having a tool box approach being needed for a game is a bad sign in my opinion. In Magic: the Gathering, there were only two- three particularly good decks that used a tool box approach. Two were in one of the most degenerate formats of the game, and the other one was a terrible deck that used the silver bullet approach to "cheat".

I don't think I've heard this one too much at all. In fact, I'd say that 98% of the people don't complain about flavor here so you may be trying to hard. Anyhow, if you are saying that the card game shouldn't be like the comics then you are kidding yourself. Half the fun of the game comes from the flavor of the cards. Doesn't it make sense that Batman is always going to be one step ahead of you? Doesn't it make sense that Doom take a dump on your face? Doesn't it make sense that Kyle Rayner should be able to make things with his ring? Certainly, comic book flavor should be deprioritized in terms of gameplay... but it shouldn't be abandoned. In fact, no one who does complain about this stuff does want flavor to outweigh gameplay, we just would like small things like finding out which Ghost Rider is the 8 drop, and Superman being an 8/7 instead of a 7/7 for no reason other then the fact that he is Supes.

I very much enjoy limited and I especially love drafting limited. It is so fun because everytime you play it it's like rediscovering the game again. Every pack you opens brings wonders, expectations and surprises. On the other hand, losing turn 4 at a PC 3-4 times in a row is very much akin to beating off with sandpaper. Same game, different scenarios, different results. It's very possible to love and hate the game at the same time, and I think many of us feel this way. You are absolutely right that if the game is not fun you should stop playing... but how bad would that be in the game for the long run? Most of us have invested too much in the game to suddenly quit like you say. Not only that, but the game relies on fresh blood to get it stronger, but a sudden exodus of disillusioned players is something unresolvable. Would you like to see UDE of US morph into UDE of Europe? It just might happen if enough people are disillusioned with the card game and the format. I haven't been alive from that long but I know for a fact that there is only one type of people who stop doing something just because they suddenly don't like it anymore: Little kids.
I'd like to think we're all more mature then that.
It happened, and nothing is gonna change it. Give it a week and there will be some other supposed broken deck out there that everyone will want banned.

Very well said I could not agree with this more. Pointing out a few flaws in something does not mean you do not love it. Nothing is perfect.
The issues people have been "complaining" about are very legitimate. Banning vs. Errata will always be a touchy subject and discussing it is not complaining IMO. Heck wouldn't it be nice if UDE had make a statement that they were contemplating banning JoLA and ARB. People have made compelling arguements and offered alternative ideas to the banning of ARB for example. Is this complaining? Is this bad?
Also the whole EoME is a very pertinate topic. Face it folks the top 8 decks hand 31 EoME. I think it is safe to say that EoME is a staple. If you want to play and have a reasonable chance to compete you have to have a generic search card now. Requiring an investment of $140 or more will never be healthy for a game.
Personally I welcome all the outcry and the debate/complaining about EoME. If enough people express their displeasure maybe UDE will take notice and take action. Can we say EoME hobbly league EA:knockedou

Do you?? Consistent decks have been around long before enemy. If you cant afford enemey(which is perfectly understandabel) play one of the tons of decks that dont need it/and or have their own tutor.

I think I summed up all the complaining in the last couple of threads if I missed any feel free to post here.
Definitely concur. All you whiners out there had better stop. Why? So the rest of us can keep having fun! Without listening to your b**ching!
"Waaah, I don't like Vs anymore! Waaah!" THEN STOP PLAYING!
