Okay, help me out... What's the use of curving the Illuminati? They don't seem to do much but cycle cards. I admit, I haven't read the storyline, so maybe I'm missing one dimension of the coolness inherent in such a curve.
There's not much generic support for characters with the same version. I can think of about three ways to team them up with minimal hassle (Rann, Thanagar, and Battleworld. Crisis might be fun too). But you might want the Crossover text to make team-stamped discards/effects easier to play.
What else would you put in an Illuminati deck? Search would be good. Secret Origins might work. EomE should do okay (as always). As this binch seems to be conspirators of some kind, maybe hate/control elements would be a good idea (Concrete Jungle, Latverian Embassy, etc). Deck-stacking cards might facilitate a good reveal for the various Illuminati powers. Recursion and Thinking Outside the Box can counter Sub-Mariner and Dr. Strange, respectively.
I'm not sure where the curve should go after 6, or what kind of win condition there should be. Ideas?
It's starting to sound like a cool idea. I might have to give it a shot...
There are no cards with the word "Illuminati" on them.
You must be mistaken.
Take out these supposed cards, and look hard at the version on them. Keep looking. Eventually, you'll see that they don't say "Illuminati" at all. There's a collection of letters there, but not spelling any known word.
Fnord.
--wouldn't you rather be buying more cards?
carbonbased
Neither of those characters exist in the Marvel Universe as far as I am aware.
I think he's talking about the deck, not the storyline. Neither Garth or Lana Lang are Illuminati. Though it would be kind of cool to have 3rd stringers from the DCU calling the shots in the Marvel books. ;)
I think we'll see another 1 cost prof x. A third 7 drop would just be wrong.
Though, we will likely see him anyway, but maybe this time he'll be more than just an xmen monkey?
And there has to be another secret member that isn't known yet, thus the way the character costs are positioned as they are.
Isn't Chuck the most powerful of them? I mean over all powerful. The ability to control minds seems inherently better than summoning demons and crazy #### like that.
So maybe we'll see a 7 drop panther and an 8 drop Chuck?
IDK. I want a higher cost panther, but for personal reasons. I don't want another 7 cost Prof x. Maybe we'll get a 1 cost Chuck that finally mind controls characters by spending resource points to snatch a character with less cost than what you paid?
I think the reason for the members of the illuminati is that they are all powerful in their realm.
Fantastic is the smartest
Iron man is the richest and most influential
Prof X is the strongest mutant
Doc strange is the strongest mythical
and Subby owns a freakin nation
Okay the subby thing is a bit of a stretch, but people have been trying to figure out why he is in the team anyway.
Pure powerwise, I would put Prof X and Doc strange on the same level. Doc is the sorcerer supreme after all, and can do stuff that Prof X couldn't even imagine himself a way out of.
